General

  • On a working equestrian centre a few miles from Bury St Edmunds
  • Lessons and rides for ages five and up, including for beginners
  • Modern heated shower room, toilets and launderette

Bardwell Manor is on a working equestrian centre, welcoming both horsey and non-horsey guests. The camping area has just a limited number of pitches so is small and quiet. The centre is a long way from the road and the site is next to an orchard, surrounded by horses grazing in the fields.

If you'd like to try horse riding, lessons can be booked for children's beginners' sessions on arrival - the owners will go very gently if you're a complete beginner, and riding can be booked for ages five and up.

Amenities include toilets and a modern shower room with heating. There's also a washing machine and tumble drying facilities available for guests' use for a small extra charge.

The site has free wifi.

Peaceful site, beautiful countryside, and most of all friendly people. Site fairly rustic, and facilities match the natural aspect of the surroundings - functional and clean, and delightfully appropriate. We had a problem with our caravan (failed tow bar electrics) yer site so lovely we can anyway (but didn’t bring the caravan). Penny had a lovely riding lesson. Definitely be coming back to this lovely site. Great value as well. What a paradise!!!

Lovely camp with friendly staff took my grand daughter who loves horses and she had a great time. It was a little bit out of the way and to get anywhere you needed to drive. Only one shower but as there was only one other family camping this was not a problem, although if the site was full l could see this as a problem. Overall a great little site and really enjoyed our stay.
