  • Two parks in one: family-oriented and more quiet sections
  • Indoor and outdoor pools, gym, crazy golf, bar and restaurant
If you can’t decide whether to opt for an idle break or something a bit more lively, then have the best of both at Breydon Water Holiday Park, near Great Yarmouth and the Norfolk Broads. It’s essentially two parks in one: the first is Yare Village, for those looking for an active, family-oriented vibe, with its toasty outdoor pool (open from May to September, weather permitting), crazy golf, and a buzzing schedule of sports, kids’ activities and evening entertainment. Just 10 minutes’ walk away is the more sedate Bure Village, where there’s an indoor pool and a fully-equipped gym. The site also has wifi in the Waterside bar and restaurant.

What customers say

This spot boasts a prime location, great walks (Burgh Castle ruins mentioned), and friendly, helpful staff. Families loved the pools and entertainment. A few noted dated facilities and occasional noise. Despite minor shower quirks and litter, many found it a good value and would return.

Liked Outdoor swimming pool, arcade, big pitches. The lady in the arcade was very friendly.

Disliked Showers (don’t stay on and too close to the wall!), not enough staff, not strict on noise after a certain time!! There were some very noisy groups that kept the noise going into the early hours! Facilities were not the cleanest at times and very run down!

Liked Great access to all the entertainment, pool and amusements etc. The pitch size was generous which we needed for our larger tent. The toilets/shower block/ washing up room etc were conveniently all part of the same block.

Disliked It's a shame the showers were a press button that had to be held in to work, it makes showering with kids much harder when they weren't tall enough to do it themselves while I washed them. The water stopped as soon as you let go of the button, could really do with being changed.
Unfortunately there were lots of wasps but I'm not sure there is anything that can be done about that, and it was mostly only an issue when food was out and attracting them.
Unfortunately there were some groups that were smoking weed, but they weren't troublesome, just irritating having the smell around the kids.

Liked Nothing much, entertainment was awful, prices at bar were high

Disliked Showers/toilets were dirty and only cleaned once per day. Toilets regularly ran out of toilet paper. Only 4 sinks for nearly 100 pitches.

Liked Clean facilities, nice outdoor and indoor pool. Lots of things to book. Close to the castle ruins for a walk. Guy in golf booth very friendly and reopened the hut for a last minute game of golf.

Disliked Looking a bit tired in places. Staff mentioned parkdene hadn't invested so they were doing what the could. The pitches were lacking grass which might have been due to the hot weather. Great for a short break though.

Liked friendly staff, nice meals, went to indoor pool and thought it could do with some TLC , ( some tiles in the pool missing and a lot of patch work. Painted characters on windows needed brightening up or replaced) but I had a nice swim can't fault it . nice toilet/shower block on camp site but there was a strange smell about it ! was made welcome, yes I enjoyed it and would come again.

Disliked Being woken up at 4 each morning by a cockerel ! but that is nature not the only bird as the crows started then pigeons , just nature so not complaining.

Local attractions

Great Yarmouth, a short drive away, has masses of attractions – too many to list here, but to give you an idea: the Sea Life aquarium, the exhilarating indoor circuit at Karting 2000, mini choo-choos and tiny townsfolk at Merrivale Model Village and Gardens, and the Elizabethan House Museum, where visitors can don Tudor fashions and find out what life was really like below stairs for Victorian scullery maids. There are more than 50 acres of adrenaline rides, plus parrot and sea lion shows and an Alpine chair lift at Pleasurewood Hills in Lowestoft. For those seeking more genteel pursuits, also near Lowestoft is Somerleyton Hall, a Tudor-Jacobean pile with pleasure gardens and a maze, home to the Crossley Carpets dynasty. Drive a little further and you can explore the wetlands and waterways of the Norfolk Broads, or head south to gorgeous Southwold and Aldeburgh in Suffolk.
