  • On the banks of the River Severn, two miles from Worcester city centre
  • Close to the M5, 15 minutes' drive from the Malvern Hills
  • Fishing on site; riverside walk from site to city centre
City strolls or countryside wanders – which one might you fancy while on your Worcestershire break? If the answer is ‘a bit of both, actually’ then you’ll likely find Ketch Caravan Park a most convenient spot indeed. This peaceful and family-friendly park with spacious pitches is on the banks of the River Severn, around two miles from Worcester city centre. A riverside footpath runs from the site to the city’s shops and attractions; alternatively you can drive it in five minutes or so. As well as providing pleasant strolls into town, the river also supplies a pretty backdrop for the site, with the Malvern Hills visible in the distance (another good place for lovely long stroll, of course). Guests can go fishing in the river directly from the site too. Getting in, out and around to local attractions is very straightforward from here: the park is handily placed close to the A4440 and only a few minutes’ drive from the M5. That makes it both a nifty stopover point on a longer motorway journey and a good place to settle for rural rambles (with a dog, if you’ve got one you’d like to bring along on holiday) and days out visiting the likes of Tewkesbury, Snowshill Manor and Evesham. Barbecues are allowed on site, and there’s a rather handy supermarket just outside the site for supplies if you don’t fancy the trip to town for dinner. As for the site’s own facilities, they include a modern amenities block with showers and toilets including a family room and wet room, a laundry room and a washing-up area. There is also a chemical disposal point on site.

Liked: The river, toilet block was new and very clean. Showers a bit small. Need steps in middle of bank as long way round either way. Noisy motorway very close but loved proximity to town centre.

Disliked: Need steps in middle of bank for easy access to toilets, showers and washing up

Liked: Great spot on the river with a lovely walk along the river to Worcester. Great value for money compared to a lot of sites. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There's a new shower block and were clean and tidy. There's only 22 pitches so not busy. The site is shared with a static caravan park which as been upgraded and awaiting new vans. I would definitely return.

Disliked: Distance to the elsan and fresh water but I understand the bottom field can flood in the winter.

From the manager: Thank you for a kind review, yes the toilet block is up on the high level of the site as the bottom section floods each year.
Pleased you enjoyed your stay

Liked: Location and you have got two pubs in easy walking distance to have a nice meal. Only downside as a tourer you have to walk round the edge of the site to get to toilet instead of putting a central pathway and steps in the middle,

Disliked: Long walk to toilet facilities

Liked: Spacious pitches

Disliked: No signage or directions on how to get to toilet/shower block or water points. The sites like a building site. It's ironic how in the rules it asks you not to walk on static caravan foundations that have been laid but you have to walk on them to get to shower block that's located in far corner of the site. I used the steps at side of elsan point and motorhome filling station they led me straight onto the foundations where I fell and now have cracked ribs and grazed knees. Toilets and showers aren't clean they weren't cleaned all over the bank holiday weekend which is such a shame as brand new shower block.

From the manager: Hi
Im sorry but your review is ridiculous.
You read in the rules which we give ti all our guests, not to walk on the static pitches, but you did it anyway?
It is blatantly obvious the path to the toilet block it is up a set of steps to the left or up a ramp to the right, you do not need to come off the paths and walk on the static pitches.
We get the comment a lot that the toilet block is a bit of a walk which it is, I have explained numerous times that the toilet block has to be where it is as the camping field floods each winter.
The toilet block is cleaned on a regular basis.

Liked: Vacinity to the River Severn and close walking distance to Worcester City centre.... Quiet site even over a BH weekend as it is undergoing a full renovation. Jake was lovely, helpful and didn't seem to stop working! Also close to a couple of eating pubs, an Aldi and a B&M store. Great location for exploring local area.....

Disliked: Nothing - great price for a lovely setting....

Liked: Good sized pitch .

Disliked: 1 drinking water tap between pitches 8&9 not great for people pitched on theses pitches . Toilets and showers . No toilet roll in ladies Thursday and Friday had to find someone on site as reception is not manned very often . My husband said Mens were the same only one toilet with toilet paper . Ladies showers and sinks were not cleaned in the 4 days we were on site .. washing up area is attached to the ladies toilets and showers where the door between washing up and the showers does not close properly . . Access to these facilities are not marked from the camp pitches you have to go across the building site to access them . Not good in the dark Another set of steps perhaps half way down the camping pitches as it is too far to walk to the far end and the bank is to steep to get up .

From the manager: Hi There
Thank you for taking time to leave a review,
Our toilet block is cleaned daily and is brand new we have been open for 1 month.
You do have to walk to the loo block it cannot be avoided as the touring field floods in closed season.
The site has undergone a massive redevelopment as you will have noticed, though it is not a building site !
Infrastructure is complete, there are bases laid and drives laid for all static pitches, there is no building work and there is none going to be happening.
Thank you for your review

Liked: Quiet and peacefull location and near to local amenities. Showers and toilets new and very clean. Washing up facilities great. Laundry facilities looked new, we didn't need to use them. Lots of hot water. Helpful staff when needed.
Lovely walk along the river to Worcester city centre.

Disliked: Would appreciate a couple more steps up the slope.

Liked: Lovely site, great location. Ideal for getting into Worcester and having amenities nearby. Still undergoing works on site and facilities all new. Warden was very helpful when there was an issue on site with another camper teaching his 10yr child to drive on the site. Would come again as it is great so the dislikes are minor points / tips as the owners learn. Lovely hot water on site as well. Will be beautiful I'm sure when finished.

Disliked: Not necessarily dislikes but maybe tips for the owners as they may be still learning too. Less attention should be focused on striming and maybe a half an hour daily clean / check of toilets and showers as often other campers would leave them in a mess or we were without toilet paper for days. Bins / chemical waste are quite walk away not sure if anything can actually be changed on that as appreciate it floods in the winter. We ended up using our bike to take bits as we were the end pitch but that was ideal for the stairs to toilets. Most people walk up the bank which the rules say don't but most ignored that so perhaps additional steps are needed. Grass cutting / striming was carried out very close to the vans on site and did make me nervous if a stone flicked up maybe wait until a pitch is vacant to works right behind.

From the manager: Thank you for taking time to leave us a review, We are very keen to read them and make changes over the season to make the site better in anyway. We have added a motor home service point as a new feature but indeed we had to put everything up on the high level of the site.

We are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and would love to welcome you back

Liked: The actual location was great, within walking distance to Worcester along the river. Pub and Aldi close by for the essentials. Toilet block very nice and modern.

Disliked: Not really a dislike but, the toilets probably could be doing with being checked/cleaned on a daily basis. In order for these to be maintained to the standard that has been set.
Possibly to be done by your site warden, and save you guys money. You then would not have to hire contract cleaners who are not on site on a regular basis. Just a thought for you going forward.😃

From the manager: Thank you so much for a lovely review, The toilet block is only maintained by our own team, Im glad you enjoyed your stay with us,

Liked: Everything, nice location riverside, 5 minutes walk to Toby carvery and harvester pubs, Aldi and B&M.

30 minutes riverside walk into Worcester, 10 minute drive!

Male, female and family toilets with showers.

Well maintained and looked after site.

Great dog walks too

Loved it!

Disliked: Might sound a little picky!

But Not sure who's responsibility it is, but maybe get some of the bushes, tree branches cut back, fishing pegs opened up, so you can appreciate the lovely flowing river more from MH, caravan, tents, walk way etc!

Also picnic benches would be nice on side of river when cut back for views!

Saftey! Some Lifebouys over grown by weeds bush etc, not accessible if needed!

Local attractions

Presumably you’ll want to start in Worcester – and that’s a good choice, whether you amble along the riverbank or take the five-minute drive. Once you’re in the city centre, stop by at the cathedral and the Tudor House Museum for a sense of the area’s history and admire the pretty pieces on display at the Museum of Royal Worcester. There’s more history to be explored at places like the Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings (20 minutes’ drive), where you can see a collection of restored and rebuilt buildings of various kinds, and the smart Eastnor Castle (half an hour) and Snowshill Manor and Gardens (40 minutes). Meanwhile, music buffs can follow the Elgar Route to take in some of the scenery that inspired the composer and see some of the places where he lived and worked. For some outdoor time, explore the grounds of Spetchley Park Gardens (five minutes), which has been in the same family for over 400 years, or head to the highest point in the Malvern Hills at Worcestershire Beacon (20 minutes).
