Grass touring pitch

  • A gem of a park in High Onn, offering pitches on 16 acres of woodland
  • Pitches available for Touring Caravans & Motorhomes.
  • Open March to October for overnight, weekend, week, & seasonal stays.
Tucked away in a Staffordshire village of the same name, High Onn Holiday Park is a quiet, family-run spot in 16 acres of peaceful woodland. Staying here gives you easy access to the pretty village of Wheaton Aston, the Shropshire Union Canal and UNESCO-listed exhibits at the Ironbridge Gorge Museums. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, with nine acres of woodland trails on which they can stretch their paws. This is also a top spot for visitors seeking rural downtime, and while families are welcome, please note that the park does not have any children’s facilities. What it does have is as follows: optional electric hook-ups, a well-maintained facilities block, outdoor showers and all the vital waste disposal amenities. You can buy calor gas on site too. For other shopping needs, you’re well supplied with supermarkets in Stafford (20 minutes’ drive) and Telford (25 minutes). The nearest petrol station is 10 minutes’ drive away, and public-transport options include a railway station in Stafford, or a bus stop that serves the town centre about a mile away from the pitches. If you’re dodging cooking on your Staffordshire break, there are good pubs in Wheaton Aston and Gnosall (both 10 minutes), plus a tearoom and farm shop in Haughton (15 minutes).

Power optional grass travel trailer campsite

Liked The owner has recently taken over the site for the Caravan and Motorhome Club. They've been busy bring the site into the 21st Century, with a lovely modern toilet/shower block and reclaiming the slightly overgrown pitchs. Nice quiet remote site Hopefully Google will wake up to the fact that the Caravan and Motorhome Club no longer runs the site

Disliked This no a thing about the site. The lanes that lead to the site are a bit narrow

From the manager: Thank you glad you enjoyed your stay

Power optional grass travel trailer campsite

Liked The pitches were very good, although the ground was as hard as concrete due to a lack of rain, well until we were hitching the caravan up to the car, so pegging down the awning was a learning experience but got there in the end.

The new toilet bock was great, spotlessly clean and an individual cubicle for toilet and shower. Was impressed that ther was also a dissabled/family one with ramp access for a wheelchair or pushchair.

The site itself is being worked on to upgrade the hardstanding pitches to have fresh gravel and some of the hedges and trees were being tidied on the friday when we arrived. The grass was perfectly cut and I think they take great pride in the quality and condition of the grass, I was very pleased with what I saw.

Disliked The only thing that for me is a slight negative, and it's not really something the site owners could sort is the access to the site along the narrow country roads that lead to it whilst towing. Super easy to get to in just a car/campervan, but meeting oncoming traffic does make it challenging, especially for the less experienced at towing like myself. There are passing places though so dont be put off by this.

From the manager: Thank you 🙏🏼

Power optional cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked Friendly welcome with large level pitch’s. I felt safe as a lone female traveling with our 2 Labradors. Lovely clean facilities, quiet site surrounded by countryside. The owners have only recently taken the site over and have clearly made significant improvements with ongoing works (not disruptive to our stay atall).

Power optional cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked Big pitches. Nice toilets/showers.

Disliked Laundry facilities were not working which was very disappointing as this was the whole reason for booking. The site also looks to be not finished with works being done all over. Also, there was a fire onsite where they were burning wood/branches, etc. This went on for our whole stay and created lots of smoke and awful smell overnight/in the morning.

From the manager: Sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your 1 night stay with us. When you texted regarding the Laundry i did inform you that the washing machine was not available. We have only recently brought this Caravan Park (Nov 2024) and it had been closed over 2 years prior hence why you could see work still being carried out further into the Park and I would like to apologise over the smell of smoke but there was no fire burning it was from a fire we had had within the week and due to the strong winds that weekend it caused the fire to keep smouldering which i agree was not very nice. We do have Wifi available across the Park which is open to everybody. Thank you 🙏🏼
