Liked Ray and Sue were fabulous hosts. They made you feel very welcome and looked after. Nothing was too much trouble. A quiz and raffle was arranged during our stay at the onsite bar which was fun. The bar has a lovely setting overlooking one of the lakes which was really nice. The toilet/shower facilities were kept clean and well stocked. Shower temperature was good. We will definitely be going back.
Disliked Nothing to dislike about Pigeon Cottage

Liked Ray one of the owners was lovely, you can see he’s really passionate about pigeon cottage. His bar overlooking the fishing pond is brilliant. He was also serving behind the bar so I’m sure he works very hard. The fishing ponds are lovely and peaceful.
Disliked We were in the middle of the field but we were also near the road pathways (on the grass) so cars kept going past us to the fishing pond. We had our 3 year old with us and I didn’t feel safe because I had to keep looking out for cars coming to keep him within our small area. No privacy as we were right in front of all the caravans and awnings (long term residency by the looks of things). We expected either a pitch or more space in a safer place.
The worst part of it all was the barrier they have. When we arrived we wasn’t told that they would have to manually open the barrier. We left at 8.30am in the morning. I had to ring the contact number, the other owner Sue sounded annoyed with us. Ray came down and although it was inconvenient for him, he still waved bye with a smile. I suggest the owners consider a different way to leave, especially in case of an emergency. What if we needed medical assistance during the night?
From the manager: Hi Gillian,
Thank you for your review we are sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay with us.
I wish that you had said that you were not happy where you were at the time, so that we might have been able to move you some where else.
However because you were here for the one night we thought it might be easier for you to get in and out from where you were.
The barrier is there to stop people from just driving onto the site, as we need to know who is on site at all times, it is also for security reasons.
If anyone needed to leave in an emergency our phone numbers are on the office door.
If we were aware that you were leaving early we would have given you a fob for the barrier so that you could have let yourself out.
Sorry that Sue sounded a bit annoyed when you rang at 8.30, we had both been working in the bar until late.
Kind Regards
Sue & Ray
