  • Quiet adults-only park among Lincolnshire farmland; dogs allowed
  • A 20-minute drive from beaches at Skegness and Mablethorpe
  • Half a mile from the village pub and shop
A warm and friendly welcome awaits at The Nurseries Caravan Park, an adults-only, dog-friendly park in a semi-rural setting in Lincolnshire. Set at the end of a quiet lane and surrounded by farmland, this site is well-placed for relaxing breaks both in the Lincolnshire countryside and by the sea. Coastal trips are particularly easily arranged at Skegness or Mablethorpe, both of which can be reached in about a 20-minute drive. The site is located in the village of Mumby near Alford, and there's a pub and shop about half a mile away on foot or by car (a few last-minute essentials are also available to buy on site). Facilities here include spotless men's and women's toilets and showers, one of which is suitable for people with reduced mobility. There is also a laundry room, a freezer for ice etc., a food preparation area and a separate washing-up sink. Adjacent to the facilities block, there is also a chemical waste disposal point for tourers. Handily, the site has an on-site café for tasty snacks and daily essentials. The Nurseries Caravan Park is very pet-friendly, and there is plenty of safe off-site dog walking to be had in the surrounding area for exploration with your four-legged friend.

Powered grass campsite

Liked First time to the Nurseries what a nice site. Its now has it's new wardens Tilly & Andy who I am sure will make it even better. They are so friendly & good banter you have with them. They have plans to improve things like the food Andy who is not a chef by trade makes one of the best Sunday Lunches. Great food cooked spot on served hot. A few teething problems just getting used to the new cooker. I am sure they will also improve the site with ideas they have. Listening to some of the regulars whilst walking around the site they are well happy with both of them. Andy is a carpenter by trade so will be good to see him use his magic around the site. Tilly also doesn't stop from one job to another but always has time to chat with you. You are made to feel very welcome & nothing is too much trouble. Will I go back ? I try to go to different sites not because I do not like them but to see other sites & meet different people & places to go. Tilly watch this space you could be the second campsite in 9 years that I return to. Answers on a postcard.

Local attractions

The small seaside town of Sutton on Sea (15 minutes' drive) is an excellent place to start exploring the Lincolnshire coast, with its attractive seafront, pretty public gardens and spectacular natural beach. The place feels more like a village than a town and is a world away from the bright lights and buzzing arcades of similarly nearby Skegness and Mablethorpe (both 20 minutes), both of which are also well worth visiting in their own right. For a change of scene, you could continue along the coast to the Seal Sanctuary (20 minutes), where sick and wounded sea creatures are nursed back to full health, or head inland instead to the National Trust property of Gunby Hall (15 minutes), a handsome 1700s country house with Victorian walled gardens. If you're happy to head slightly further afield, you could sample local ales at Batemans Brewery (25 minutes), plan jaunts to traditional market towns like Louth (35 minutes), a famed foodie hotspot, or leave the countryside behind to visit the cathedral city of Lincoln (an hour) and its pretty medieval streets.
