  • Quiet adults-only park among Lincolnshire farmland; dogs allowed
  • A 20-minute drive from beaches at Skegness and Mablethorpe
  • Half a mile from the village pub and shop
A warm and friendly welcome awaits at The Nurseries Caravan Park, an adults-only, dog-friendly park in a semi-rural setting in Lincolnshire. Set at the end of a quiet lane and surrounded by farmland, this site is well-placed for relaxing breaks both in the Lincolnshire countryside and by the sea. Coastal trips are particularly easily arranged at Skegness or Mablethorpe, both of which can be reached in about a 20-minute drive. The site is located in the village of Mumby near Alford, and there's a pub and shop about half a mile away on foot or by car (a few last-minute essentials are also available to buy on site). Facilities here include spotless men's and women's toilets and showers, one of which is suitable for people with reduced mobility. There is also a laundry room, a freezer for ice etc., a food preparation area and a separate washing-up sink. Adjacent to the facilities block, there is also a chemical waste disposal point for tourers. Handily, the site has an on-site café for tasty snacks and daily essentials. The Nurseries Caravan Park is very pet-friendly, and there is plenty of safe off-site dog walking to be had in the surrounding area for exploration with your four-legged friend.

What customers say

This adult-only spot has lekker, level pitches with astro turf for awnings. Guests rave about the friendly wardens, clean loos, and chilled vibes – perfect for dog walks or just chilling out. While the showers are a bit old school and the road in has potholes, most folks loved it and want to come back.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Adults only so quiet toilets clean

Disliked No stocked honesty shop as it was previously when run by Tilly and Andrew. No evening meals or entertainment as last time here. No board outside to tell you anything

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your comments, No the honesty shop has not been stocked for a while, this is why when the new warden has taken over it was very low. It is on the long list of things the new warden has to do to bring the site back up to standard.
I appreciate you may be personal friends of Tilly and Andrew and do not take kindly to our decision to replace them, however the standard of the site grounds has to come before the cafe and on inspection we found it to be extremely overgrown with weeds. We will not allow the site to take a back seat to the cafe as this is the main reason people visit and we want it to be a comfortable experience for them.
With regards to entertainment, we do not have an entertainment licence, we have never advertised on our website that we do entertainment or evening meals. We have a cafe on site that for the past few years has opened for breakfast, going forward this will still be the plan for the cafe.
kind regards Gaye Poole Parks Manager

Electric grass pitch

Liked We absolutely loved our stay at The Nurseries ! It was our first ever camping trip and we were a tad nervous about what to expect ! From the moment we arrived we were very warmly welcomed on to the site by newly appointed (her very first day) warden Kerry Ann who walked us to our pitch and gave us all the information to make sure we got off to a good start. It’s a lovely quiet adult only site with very good size pitches. The whole team was regularly on hand for any queries and a lovely chat to see how we were getting on. The honesty shop was well stocked and by the end of the week the cafe was back up and running, giving my husband a very delicious and reasonably priced breakfast. Amenities were cleaned and replenished regularly as best they could be as the shower/toilet blocks are worn and old and in need of updating ( this was the only area that lets the site down). We think we couldn’t have been luckier to have been so well looked after and are definitely planning to return. Kerry Ann is a lovely, kind hearted lady - an absolute gem ! In fact the whole team of husband Dave and Mum were all fabulous 😊 Thank you all so much for looking after us !

Disliked The shower block and toilets/kitchen area are in need of a more modern update. Whilst we saw the new team were working very hard to clean everywhere there is only so much you can do with outdated, worn amenities and equipment.

The Nurseries camping pod

Liked We've just returned from a wonderful 3 night's stay in the camping pod. Check in was effortless and we were quickly taken to our pod which is conveniently located next to reception and the shower block. A big thank you to the very friendly Kerry who did a splendid job of making us feel very welcome and answer any questions we had.
The location is so peaceful but not too remote. Chapel Saint Leonards and Alford are both a short 10 minutes drive away whilst Skegness snd Mablethorpe are only 20 minutes away by car.
The pod was nice and clean. The bed was comfortable and there was ample space inside for us to put our other bits and bobs. There are a couple of chairs outside of the pod and we also brought our camping table so we could sit outside and relax during the evening.
The shower and toilet block are literally 10 seconds walk away. They were clean and always available during our stay.

Electric grass pitch

Liked We loved our stay at The Nurseries. We stayed 2 nights in our tent with our dog, the pitch size was great, plenty of room and great value for money. The site itself is a lovely place, with a great dog friendly pub just up the road. We used the site as a base camp for visiting family in Sutton on Sea which was a nice bendy 15 min drive away. Nice facilities on site and helpful, friendly staff. We will definitely be using the site again in the future

Local attractions

The small seaside town of Sutton on Sea (15 minutes' drive) is an excellent place to start exploring the Lincolnshire coast, with its attractive seafront, pretty public gardens and spectacular natural beach. The place feels more like a village than a town and is a world away from the bright lights and buzzing arcades of similarly nearby Skegness and Mablethorpe (both 20 minutes), both of which are also well worth visiting in their own right. For a change of scene, you could continue along the coast to the Seal Sanctuary (20 minutes), where sick and wounded sea creatures are nursed back to full health, or head inland instead to the National Trust property of Gunby Hall (15 minutes), a handsome 1700s country house with Victorian walled gardens. If you're happy to head slightly further afield, you could sample local ales at Batemans Brewery (25 minutes), plan jaunts to traditional market towns like Louth (35 minutes), a famed foodie hotspot, or leave the countryside behind to visit the cathedral city of Lincoln (an hour) and its pretty medieval streets.
