  • Quiet adults-only park among Lincolnshire farmland; dogs allowed
  • A 20-minute drive from beaches at Skegness and Mablethorpe
  • Half a mile from the village pub and shop
A warm and friendly welcome awaits at The Nurseries Caravan Park, an adults-only, dog-friendly park in a semi-rural setting in Lincolnshire. Set at the end of a quiet lane and surrounded by farmland, this site is well-placed for relaxing breaks both in the Lincolnshire countryside and by the sea. Coastal trips are particularly easily arranged at Skegness or Mablethorpe, both of which can be reached in about a 20-minute drive. The site is located in the village of Mumby near Alford, and there's a pub and shop about half a mile away on foot or by car (a few last-minute essentials are also available to buy on site). Facilities here include spotless men's and women's toilets and showers, one of which is suitable for people with reduced mobility. There is also a laundry room, a freezer for ice etc., a food preparation area and a separate washing-up sink. Adjacent to the facilities block, there is also a chemical waste disposal point for tourers. Handily, the site has an on-site café for tasty snacks and daily essentials. The Nurseries Caravan Park is very pet-friendly, and there is plenty of safe off-site dog walking to be had in the surrounding area for exploration with your four-legged friend.

What customers say

Praised for peace & quiet; friendly, helpful wardens. Guests love big, level pitches (some with fake grass). Clean facilities, honesty shop & cafe noted. Dog walks & coast access popular. Minor points: dated showers, occasional road issues (management plans upgrades).

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked It's quiet, level and the facilities are clean but it has several drawbacks that sort of tainted the stay.

Disliked Mininmal staffing, that was a poor impression to start with & didn't help impressions

A few campers stopped by our tent and basically said the same.

A site bloke walking about was pleasant but he was a bit scruffy in grubby croc shoes, was not a good staff impression. You got the feeling it was a tired Hi De Hi set up.

If it was me running it, I would get rid of the few piles of rubble/broken concrete or stone around the reception office area, clear out junk, etc. Smarten up reception people a little, motion detectors to warn staff that people are present at reception if staffing is unavailable.

Sadly we left after couple of days. Didn't see staff to tell them we're leaving earlier. Don't think we will come again.

The owners need to look after little details which will greatly improve the campers experience. Little details like clearing out bird shit on top of the water taps is a little detail. Our tap was tilting at 45 degrees. LOL. Kitchen room had one tiny bulb in the ceiling so it was dark to wash up pots. Details, details

Shame really. It has great potential, really has a lot to offer. We walked around seeing great potential but it was lacking. If the above was done, it's great

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Nice quiet rural location.

Disliked Artificial grass by each pitch - very hot for dog, more so than normal grass.
Warden hard to get hold of by phone, on arrival had to wait about half an hour to find someone to let us in.
Warden allowed someone to pitch within one metre of us, took twice asking before they got them to move.
Whilst facilities were acceptable, they could have been a lot cleaner.

Local attractions

The small seaside town of Sutton on Sea (15 minutes' drive) is an excellent place to start exploring the Lincolnshire coast, with its attractive seafront, pretty public gardens and spectacular natural beach. The place feels more like a village than a town and is a world away from the bright lights and buzzing arcades of similarly nearby Skegness and Mablethorpe (both 20 minutes), both of which are also well worth visiting in their own right. For a change of scene, you could continue along the coast to the Seal Sanctuary (20 minutes), where sick and wounded sea creatures are nursed back to full health, or head inland instead to the National Trust property of Gunby Hall (15 minutes), a handsome 1700s country house with Victorian walled gardens. If you're happy to head slightly further afield, you could sample local ales at Batemans Brewery (25 minutes), plan jaunts to traditional market towns like Louth (35 minutes), a famed foodie hotspot, or leave the countryside behind to visit the cathedral city of Lincoln (an hour) and its pretty medieval streets.
