Pleasant site with nice clean facilities. Ideal stopover.
Powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite
Liked Warm welcome from the owner. Peaceful despite being close to East Midlands Airport. Basic field site which I’m sure will be great when it matures more. Good to be allowed to choose pitch, nice clean facilities, hot showers, excellent WiFi.
Ideal stopover.
Disliked Not really a dislike but there was a problem with booking via pitch-up, the price was incorrect, so contacted owner who promptly sorted the issue. Just mentioning it in case price is wrong when trying to book.

The warden (Dave) was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area.

Very new, nice clean site, with good potential.
Powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite
Liked Very nice and new site, easy to find with the information sent by the owner. It’s a big open site, with friendly warden. Nice clean facilities. WiFi was excellent and good phone signal for EE 4g. And O2 5g. The taps at each pitch were a very helpful touch.
Disliked I don’t like writing negative feedback, however I think it needs mentioning to help develop such a new site. There are no sinks in the toilets to wash your hands, there is one in the men’s urinals and one in the disabled, however no hand drying other than using toilet paper. There is hand sanitizer which is ok, but I don’t think that is adequate. We were ok because we were in a caravan. However, for those in tents it may be an issue.
Not sure what the extra charge for the dogs was for , as there wasn’t any provision for them, we have paid extra for dogs and found those sites to provide special dog waste bins, off lead exercise areas, poo bags etc, so £24 extra for not a lot in return seems a little excessive.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Facilities new and in good order. Few others on the site. Very rural. Large areas of unmown grass with wildflowers and butterflies. Flat pitches.
Disliked Loud noise from airliners taking off to the west from nearby East Midlands airport and turning south almost over the campsite. Camp manger said that planes normally took off towards the east, but generally in England westerly winds are more common than easterly, and therefore, as at Gatwick and Heathrow, take-off and landing is likely to be more often to the west. Take-offs frequent from 5am to at least 11pm, and our first night there was a take-off at 3am. Otherwise it is an excellent site, but in the wrong place.
