Gorgeous lakeside spots & water fun! Families love the friendly staff, clean facilities, and spacious sites. Great for water sports, fishing, and wildlife. Some find it peaceful, others note dated restrooms or minor cleanliness issues. Many want to come back!

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Good location for what we needed. Facilities were clean.
Disliked Slightly dated toilets and showers. We stayed for an extra night and were charged more by the campsite direct than on Pitchup which was a slight niggle.

Will certainly stay again
FHU gravel travel trailer campsite (waterside)
Liked Plenty of space on the service pitches facing the lake, lovely lake to walk around and clean. Facilities okay in terms of toilets and washing, showers super hot. Shop has some basic needed but town isn’t far for anything else you should need.

FHU gravel travel trailer campsite (waterside)
Liked We stayed here for 3 nights from 16/10/2025 and we had a lovely time, the view over the lake was lovely, grounds are well kept, lots of fish and ducks to watch, great place to go fishing if you are into that, also great for sailing, paddle boarding, kayaking, Nick the warden was very helpful with any information we needed, we will be visiting again next year in the summer,
Disliked It looks like they have plans to change the whole site to static-homes and lodges over the next few years, and not have any touring, that will be a shame for the touring community,

Nice location but lots of room for campsite improvements.
Primitive grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Nice setting with lake and trees. Good walking/cycling in the area and many of the roads fairly quiet.
Disliked Too many barking dogs and undisciplined dogs (mostly from permanent pitches). The ablution facilities are a bit tired and not very clean.
Grass pitch areas are unhygienic as dog walkers take their dogs for toilet activities in those areas (there should be separate dog walk areas).
