What customers say
Praised for its lovely location near London yet offering a natural escape. Guests loved the spacious, well-maintained pitches, many with river views, fire pits, and benches. Staff were friendly and helpful, creating a pleasant atmosphere. Booking was easy, but noise and composting toilet issues were noted, along with a desire for earlier check-in and clearer signage.

I recently stayed at Lee Valley…
Primitive grass tent campsite (riverside)
Liked I recently stayed at Lee Valley Almost Wild Camping and absolutely loved the experience. It’s a fantastic place to truly relax and disconnect – quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. What makes it even more special is how close it is to London, yet once you’re there it feels like you’re a world away. Perfect spot if you’re looking for a simple, back-to-nature break without having to travel far. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Location of site…
Primitive grass tent campsite (riverside)
Liked Location of site
Disliked Our riverside pitch R12 was close to the two composting toilets. We could smell urine most of the weekend which was really unpleasant as you can imagine. There were large party groups in the other pitches and the large number of people must have been to much for the two toilets to cope with . I will not be staying again unless I can guarantee I can book a pitch further away from the toilets next . ☹️

A lovely stay in an idyllic spot, sanitation could be better
Primitive grass tent campsite (riverside)
Liked Beautiful riverside pitches, friendly atmosphere with staff and other campers. Quiet and serene.
Disliked The compost toilets weren’t as clean as they could have been, and the bins were never emptied while I was there
