What customers say
This campsite boasts spacious, scenic pitches under mature oaks, with river access. Reviewers love the peaceful vibe, generous spacing, and clean facilities. Though "back to basics" without onsite water, its location and nature are huge draws. Minor notes include A40 traffic noise and wheelbarrow wear. Highly recommended for its beauty and upkeep.

Nice basic spot next to the river
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Beautiful old oak trees and a wonderful setting by the River Wye
Disliked Facilities are very limited: no drinking water, hot water only in showers (not in sinks), farm track to the site is a typical bumpy farm track (not really suitable for low vehicles), unable to park cars next to pitches.

Nice but be prepared...
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Large, spacious group pitches with picnic benches. Easy access to the river for self-launching paddleboards. Lovely large mature trees provide shade and protection from wind. We stayed during the 30+ degree heatwave and found the shade a lifesaver!
Disliked No fresh drinking water on site - have to bring your own which is inconvenient. Toilets and showers are on trailers which were a bit grim and high steps to reach cubicles. Dishwashing facilities were grubby and only cold water so didn't feel like pots and plates got clean. Nightly rate is too high compared to other sites in the area with full facilities. C.£9/10pppn would be more appropriate. Wheelbarrows provided need attention - most have near-flat tyres and are very loose which make wheeling supplies a challenge. Location means you hear A40.

Would love to return. Please open again for normal campers! Xx
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Location was perfect. Surrounding area was beautiful. Back to basics with facilities but perfect for us.
Disliked One small thing that we weren’t entirely sure on. Toilets matched pitches and were we meant to stick to one? Another man kept using the one with our label which wasn’t fun but hey! You gotta go right?

Gorgeous site with well spaced pitches and good facilities.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Tipi Adventure is a gorgeous site, the pitches are so well spaced and the toilets and showers are very good. As a solo camper on this occasion, I liked that I only had to pay for myself to camp. Loved the wild flowers and the birds, and I saw dragonflies, pheasants and rabbits. If you're a minimalist camper or a group with plenty of people to move your gear, it's perfect! Even though it was busy during the weekend I stayed, with most pitches were in use, it never felt crowded and other campers were far enough away to just be background noise.
Disliked As a solo camper it was hard work getting everything from the carpark to my pitch (and particularly back again as it was really hot when I was packing up to leave) by trolley. The 'short walk' is not particularly short after the 4th time with a trolley full of stuff in blazing sun, I've decided I'll only camp where I can take my car to my pitch in the future, even if I have to move it off again after unloading. The unending rumble of traffic from the A40 does spoil the peace somewhat, but I knew about that before I arrived, and there's not exactly much the site owners can do about it! The showers are also just too hot, I don't know if the owners are able to turn them down?

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked This is a beautiful campsite. The pitches are spaced out generously, cut out of a pretty meddow filled with wild flowers and ancient Oak trees. The pitches and paths are mowed down with clear signs for each pitch. We stayed on Wye Salmon which was plenty big enough for 3 big tents, and an event shelter. A wooden picnic bench is also provided on each pitch. You are alocated a toilet for your pitch so your dont share with other campers, and there are 8 showers on site. The car park is located outside of the field and wheel barrows are provided to take your stuff to the pitch. Sarah the host/site owner is only a text message away. She is very friendly and attentive. Nothing is too much trouble. She sent an email before our stay to make sure our family were pitched together. Sarah came every day to clean the toilets, showers and washing basin. There is no drinking water on site so you will need to bring your own. This is the only thing I would say other people commnted on. We were happy to bring our own and Ross on Wye is a 8 minute drive away with plenty of supermarkets for supplies. We has stunning weather throughout our stay which made all the difference. The site is located just off the river Wye, so you can also arrive by canoe, which lots of people did while we were there. There are also walks in both directions. We had a dog with us which are also allowed for a small extra fee. This site is good value for money. I would say its luxury wild camping with the bonus of having clean facilities available. The price is reasonable. We will definitely come back again and look forward to more camps in the future.
