  • Quiet, dog-friendly site surrounded by Cotswolds farmland and woodland
  • A 10-minute drive from Stroud; 25 minutes to Westonbirt or Cirencester
  • Five minutes’ drive to the local town; walks and country pubs locally
What a place to be, on a family-owned working farm in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with farmland and woodland walks locally. Stancombe Ash Farm is also just five minutes’ drive from the Cotswold village of Bisley, known for its resident author Jilly Cooper and the Giffords circus (under three miles away, with delicious food, animals and circus acts on select dates). With a remote setting, this is a peaceful place for a stay away from the action. There are plenty of footpaths and green lanes around the local area for families to follow. Network routes can be picked up slightly further out for further Cotswolds wanders or cycles over valleys, woodlands, canals and country estates. If you’re ever short on things to do (which is unlikely, with country pubs within five minutes’ drive of the site and a number of National Trust houses, gardens and parks a short drive away), just ask the site. They’ll be happy to suggest new adventures. Otherwise, set up a barbecue on a grill provided by the site (as long as they’re protected and don’t damage the grass or facilities) and cook up any findings from the popular Daylesford Organic (50 minutes’ drive) or Diddly Squat Farm Shop (an hour). You might want to save the little scraps for your well-behaved dog, as they’re welcome here too. The field is part of the working farm, so the other facilities are basic but include a toilet and hot showers for a good rinse at the end of your day.
