What customers say

Great location for local sights & walks. Brewery with live music, good burgers, clean facilities were highlights. But, reviews note frequent shortages of toilet paper/soap, cold showers, uneven pitches, high cost & lack of management.

It's a no frills basic campsite. Don't expect too much from it.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Nice quiet location. Very clean toilets. Didn't ever see anyone cleaning them but they were always spotless. Showers could do with an upgrade but we're a good size and the water was almost instantly hot.

Disliked There's a micro brewery attached but note.... it's only open Thurs, Fri and Sat. There are no other facilities on site.

Liked Wonderful campsite. Lovely and clean facilities and great brewery which was a bonus. Will definitely go again. Also visited The sculpture park right next door which was very inspiring and gorgeous to look around X

Disliked There was no shop which the website did say was there.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Not much to like

Disliked The site is not manned so seems to be a bit chaotic!
The showers were cold.
The drainage for the showers was in the ditch right near our motor home so there was a constant smell of dirty water.
There is no Elsan point for emptying our toilet and when we phoned the owner of the site he said they hadn’t got around to installing one yet. We were then told to empty it down the drain behind the shower blocks!
There were dogs running free all over the site as there is no designated dog field and no poo bins available for dog waste!
There was no farm shop or milk available as stated on their website.
At £50 per night we expected better facilities - the website is very misleading.

Liked Site was easy to find and well laid out

Disliked No one was manning the site or able to pickup my call and even now no one has responded to my emails. Someone else had pitched in our spot and no support was available.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked There was a bar area, which had live music. This was far enough away so that it didn't keep the campsite awake. You could also buy burgers from there. The facilities were modern enough, with a nice washing up area. Fellow campers were also quiet during the night. Would be great price if you are a group or family staying in one tent

Disliked As a backpacker, this was exceptionally expensive, as we were told that we had to pay for two separate pitches due to licensing - most sites charge £10 for a backpacking pitch, rather than the £35 we paid. However, there were other pitches that had multiple tents per pitch, so one rule for one and one rule for another. There would have been ample of space for two backpacking tents on a pitch for people doing the Thames Path. Due to the cost, we were expecting better facilities than there were. Site very quickly ran out of toilet roll and hand wash. Toilets also became dirty very quickly. According to other campers, this was a frequent occurance. There was no reception area, so we couldn't even speak to anyone about it. There was also nowhere to charge phones and no WiFi available

Liked Erm…. The size of the pitch was decent.
The Tap Room was lovely but it has nothing to do with the campsite

Disliked The photos and write up do not portray the camping experience here!
*No management/welcome on site.
*Toilet facilities were terrible: every toilet seat was broken, no toilet roll, no soap, no hand drying facilities.
*The showers were gross with green algae growing up the walls and cold unless you get up early
*There is no walkable path to the lakes as described.
*The designated ‘dog walking field’ and ‘picnic area’ had campers in them.
*The rules state no awnings/gazeboes yet everyone had one (as they fit on the pitches).
*Muddy and VERY uneven pitches: it’s like a ploughed field that has been seeded with grass.
*States WiFi, but no idea where or how to get on it
*The onsite farm shop was actually a vending machine with cheese, sausages, playing cards and dog poo bags!
NOT WORTH THE MONEY. Will not be returning!
