What customers say
This campsite boasts a beautiful, peaceful setting ideal for hikers and outdoor lovers, with gorgeous views and direct access to many trails, including Mam Tor. Visitors often rave about the friendly staff, clean basic amenities, and laid-back vibe. While it can get busy on weekends, causing potential noise or lines for limited facilities, many find it a great value. Fire pit rentals and on-site food add to the appeal. It's a favorite for repeat visitors seeking a no-frills Peak District getaway.

Lovely site, no issues…
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Lovely site, no issues
Disliked Shower floor could do with some flooring but not a major issue

Had a good 2 nighter there, but that would be the limit for us.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Stayed Fri -sun. Lovely flat field with lots of spaces between tents. Parking next to your tent, which makes unloading easy.
Easy check-in on arrival.
Disliked Washing up area was left in a mess by other campers ( not necessarily the camp sites fault, but maybe a big sign to say LEAVE IT HOW YOU WANT TO FIND IT would help).

The location is excellent and the facilities are good.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked The location is excellent and the facilities are good, including a kitchen with fridge/freezer, toilets and showers. The open covered space with seating was a bonus given the weather.
Disliked Rowter Farm is quite exposed to the wind and other elements, but that's to be expected given the location.

Cheap and cheerful!
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Campsite was remote and quiet - lots of space to run around for the children 👌🏻🤗
Disliked Showers were not the nicest and charged, which I was aware of but I chose not to use them.

Peaceful stay on a level site.…
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Peaceful stay on a level site. Sufficient toilet and shower facilities which were clean and well maintained. Even though the site is next to a working farm the site was very quiet. Would definitely book again.

The sight was as it stated/booked…
Primitive grass campsite
Liked The sight was as it stated/booked grass field non electric. Convenient for our plans. Central to a lot of walks.
Disliked One Shower and two toilets, with the amount of people staying over a busy weekend is not enough.

Great location for exploring Peaks
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Great location - easy to walk plenty of different routes from site. Nice views and plenty of space. Facilities well maintained and jacket potato van on site serving in the evenings and breakfast baps on Sunday morning available (didn’t try but looked good!)
Disliked Had to move pitch after one night as neighbours SO noisy with music and smoking weed until the early hours (the other side of the site was lovely and peaceful though!) Only one female shower so long queue from 5pm.
