Summary AI-generated from Pitchup.com customer reviews

There is not much nature view but it is clean and safe.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked - Common areas are clean.
- The litter bins are tidy and clean.
- There is a barrier at the entrance of the camping area, which you can enter - with CCTV security and a code.
- So when you leave the tent you feel safe.
Disliked - I don't know if the comments saying "the views are beautiful" were made by paying for them, but there is no view.
- There is no natural view within the campsite. Just the trees surrounding the campsite and the vehicles and tents of other campers.
- When you leave the campsite and want to go for a walk, you go directly onto the road where there are motor vehicles, so it is not a place suitable for walking.
- Two shower areas are right next to the toilet, so when someone is using the toilet, you are showering, or vice versa. If you go to the toilet, you are suffocated by the steam from the shower areas.

From the manager: Thank you for your review.
I do feel compelled to address a couple of issues, I have never paid for reviews. I dont need to. Being in the hospitality industry for over 15 years we have an excellent record of reviews both in our self catering properties and latterly with the campsite over the last couple of years, since we opened.
When you leave the campsite, you come on to a country lane with a pavement. It is a small country road leading through a small and quiet village. You turn left, you hit the country pub, walking a bit further you can walk up to the highest pub in Derbyshire.
Turn right and you can take the bridlepath over to Eyam or many, hundreds of walks.
Alternatively, you can walk through our little gate at the bottom of the campsite straight on to the footpath where there are endless miles of walks without even putting a step on to a road at all. Hence I am a little confused by your statement.
I do apologise sincerely for the steam from the showers, we were waiting for the new extractor, which has now been fitted.

This is a beautiful location but they need to extend the toilet block!
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Beautiful views, short walk to a lovely pub, good location to explore the area and there’s some great walks nearby.
Disliked Not enough toilet cubicles (even the men were queuing!) and there’s not enough space inside the toilet/shower block.

A lovely site, clean facilities and lots of nearby places to explore
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Lovely site in the Peak District, plenty of marked pitches available.
Generally very quiet and peaceful, lots of local walks and a nice little village nearby with a pub. Easy access to local towns like Bakewell, Buxton or Castleton a short drive away.
Clean facilities which were checked twice a day.
Felt like a safe site, with gated entry and cctv on the driveway.
All in all a beaut little spot, would recommend.
Disliked The showers don’t have locks on the doors.
And I could also see over the top on the doors, so ended up making awkward eye contact with another man having a shower.
This is more aimed at the people staying there, but we pitched up on a Thursday when it was basically empty. On the Friday evening, lots of people then arrived and pitched around the edge next to us - meaning we were all quite bunched up with limited privacy.
In the contact information email we received, it specifically says feel free to pitch up in the middle of the field - but no one did that in our experience. This just made it feel busier than it actually was.
For this reason I just think that it should be made more obvious that you can actually stay in the middle.
None of these really detract from the quality of the site. It’s a new site with a few teething problems and that’s okay

Idyllic, simple, quiet and clean site.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked We really loved Brosterfield and wished we had stayed longer. Very quiet site with lots of space and nice feeling of being in the countryside. Good shower block. Close to the Bull pub where we had a great meal. Buses at Foolow also enable one to get around without driving. Good security at site.
Disliked Rarely saw wardens and closed shop.

Primitive grass campsite
Liked The site was very clean and well cared for. Facilities were clean and close to the pitches. We had a wonderful time and it was definitely the most silent camp site I've been in. Highly recommend purchasing a burning bucket for the evening for sitting out and star gazing.
