Perfect campsite for what we needed.…
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Perfect campsite for what we needed. Not the greatest weather but this didn’t dampen our experience. Compost toilets are handy but also great having an indoor toilet and nice hot shower. My friend and I did a hike and went to pitch up, Stella’s kitchen was still open half way through the day and we were super hungry, Stella did us a vegetable curry which was incredible! Filling and comforting just what we needed after a hike in the rain. A really amazing find, we will definitely back. Fantastic location for what we needed and Stella is a wonderful host. Thank you!

Nice little site in middle of Peak District
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Great little site. Stopped here for a quick overnight while walking the White to Dark Peak Walk. We were quickly shown where to pitch up on arrival. Quite a basic site but everything you need like compost toilets and running water. We are not adverse to using compost toilets but was expecting the worst with the current hot weather. They were great, clean and zero smell. All good. Wish I'd booked into the hosts restaurant. The food smelled amazing. But I'd just carried a load of food for 14 miles so needed to eat that. But we will definitely return.
Disliked Nothing, all good.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Quiet Location and only ones on site for the weekend. Stella's Kitchen was busy but we preordered takeaway from the menu to collect after our long walk.
Fish Sharing Platter with a side of Pork Ribs was incredible!
Shower was free and one of the best I have had on a campsite.
Disliked Lack of quality amenities on the field, but there are much nicer services by the house.

Unfortunately I was unable to stay the night but Stella treated me with kindness and compassion when I turned up unexpectedly to cancel the booking. The site looked lovely and the food smells coming from the kitchen smelled divine! I will definitely be back!
