Lots of space for the kids to run around.
Camping field with spectacular peak district views
We ordered food from the restaurant one evening which was delicious.
Pitches

  • Pop-up site with spectacular Peak District National Park views
  • Eyam Museum five minutes’s drive; Treak Cliff Cavern 20 minutes
  • African/Caribbean meals available on site; walks from the pitches
One thing’s for sure: you’ll never starve when you book in at pop-up Crosslow Farm Holidays between the historic Derbyshire villages of Eyam and Foolow, for this back-to-basics spot sits in a farm field right next to an African and Caribbean restaurant hosted by the inimitable Stella Kisob herself. Combine that with spectacular views of the Peak District National Park from your pitch, and you’ll surely agree that you’re on to a winner. At this working farm site, children are welcome but only under the condition that they are kept under adult supervision at all times. The great views from the (slightly sloping) camping field are matched by fantastic walks straight from your tent. If you’re out all day roaming the national park, you are guaranteed a warm welcome and delicious takeaway meals from Stella, showcasing locally sourced fresh ingredients and traditional Afro-Caribbean flavours. Firepits can be hired for the odd night when you don’t want to dine with Stella. Simple showers and loos are also available on site, but there’s no electricity, so bring torches to get around after dark.

What customers say

A lovely, peaceful spot with friendly owners. Stella's Kitchen food is amazing (book ahead!). Toilets/showers are clean, with composting toilets to come. Pitches can be sloped, but the views and vibe make it a top recommendation.

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Quiet Location and only ones on site for the weekend. Stella's Kitchen was busy but we preordered takeaway from the menu to collect after our long walk.

Fish Sharing Platter with a side of Pork Ribs was incredible!

Shower was free and one of the best I have had on a campsite.

Disliked Lack of quality amenities on the field, but there are much nicer services by the house.

Unfortunately I was unable to stay the night but Stella treated me with kindness and compassion when I turned up unexpectedly to cancel the booking. The site looked lovely and the food smells coming from the kitchen smelled divine! I will definitely be back!

Liked Beautiful quiet basic camping with toilet, water and shower amenities. Lots of attractions are a very short drive away, great hiking trail on your doorstep.
Stella and her husband are both excellent hosts who genuinely care about the comfort of their guests, they were welcoming and helpful.

Disliked Didn't get to try the food during our short stay, but we will likely be back.

The Rodney shepherd's hut (adults only)

Liked Very well presented shepherd's hut. Spotless, comfortable, warm and very well equipped. The bed was very comfortable and had immaculate white bedding and more than enough pillows. The host was very pleasant and always on hand, yet left us to enjoy our weekend without interruption. Honestly not stayed any where more pleasant. Perfect.
