View from the camping field

  • Pop-up site with spectacular Peak District National Park views
  • Eyam Museum five minutes’s drive; Treak Cliff Cavern 20 minutes
  • African/Caribbean meals available on site; walks from the pitches
One thing’s for sure: you’ll never starve when you book in at pop-up Stella’s Kitchen Campsite between the historic Derbyshire villages of Eyam and Foolow, for this back-to-basics spot sits in a farm field right next to an African and Caribbean restaurant hosted by the inimitable Stella Kisob herself. Combine that with spectacular views of the Peak District National Park from your pitch, and you’ll surely agree that you’re on to a winner. At this working farm site, children are welcome but only under the condition that they are kept under adult supervision at all times. The great views from the (slightly sloping) camping field are matched by fantastic walks straight from your tent. If you’re out all day roaming the national park, you are guaranteed a warm welcome and delicious takeaway meals from Stella, showcasing locally sourced fresh ingredients and traditional Afro-Caribbean flavours. Firepits can be hired for the odd night when you don’t want to dine with Stella. Simple showers and loos are also available on site, but there’s no electricity, so bring torches to get around after dark.

What customers say

A small, quiet campsite with lovely surroundings & views. Guests rave about friendly staff & great food. Clean facilities, though showers are a bit of a walk & lack hooks. Great location, but one guest found it pricey for what's offered.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Small, farmhouse setting with only a few pitches.
Beautiful walks nearby.
Waking up and looking back at cows in the field opposite.
Good shower and toilet.
Stella and her husband are welcoming and helpful.
The Barrel inn can be seen from the campsite: hike there for excellent food and views of 5 counties.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Beautiful location - small and quiet campsite.
Stella and family were incredibly friendly and helpful. Made the experience even better for us.
Clean toilet and shower. Slightly separated from the tents had to walk round to the restaurant to reach but nothing we couldn't handle!

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Absolutely beautiful surroundings. Peaceful and scenic. Stella's geese and lamb entertained my tweens; they were very cute. Stella was a wonderful host; friendly and accommodating. The campsite is next to her restaurant. We ordered takeaway from there one of the evenings and it was absolutely delicious although would work out pricey for a family with multiple kids. We would definitely go back. We were made to feel like part of the family. Highly recommend!

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Quiet, good proximity to Eyam. Nice views of the hills behind.

Disliked At £30 for a night small tent with two adults inside, it was quite expensive for what the site is. The field is sloping a bit, but it does have several fairly level pitches.
