What customers say
This small, tidy campground has great, clean, modern amenities like a communal lounge and kitchen. Pitches are well-spaced, private, and have convenient services. It's centrally located for exploring the Peak District, near a local pub. Some guests noted road noise and inconsistent WiFi due to the rural setting. Campervan pitches are more casual.

Not ideal for caravans if you want a quiet stay. Very busy noisy road
Powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite
Liked Very clean and tidy facilities.
Disliked The hard standing pitch is very untidy, with large hardcore, which is uncomfortable to walk on and small grit which you walk into your van. Not very comfortable if you want to sit outside, you have to sit in front of the van. It really does need to be tarmacked.
There are security cameras across the site, but there are no barriers to stop anyone from entering, especially through the night.
Most sites have an automatic gate which opens from your registration number, maybe something for the owners to think about.
I understand that the owners want to give you privacy however on arrival a simple hello when you arrive would have been nice. We stayed for 4 nights and didn't see anyone from the management.
Wifi, or lack of. You are able to connect to the sites WiFi but the signal is very poor, couldn't connect to Amazon or Ebay ect.
The biggest issue is the Main road which runs right behind where the caravan was pitched. If you like being woken up at 6am every morning with large HGV wagons and roaring motorbikes then your in the right spot. The noise continues throughout the day until late into the evening.
I would Not recommend this site to anyone who's looking for a quiet stay.

Liked Facilities good, lounge with TV and kitchen tea coffee, washing machine fridge and freezer.
Tarmac site on pitches 1 to 11. But have read that it's open all year so this makes sense.
Taxi ride into Buxton cost around £10.
A walk to the local pub the Church Inn is about a 30 minute walk in the village of Chelmorton.
Disliked Motor bikes going past the site on a Sunday morning, not the campsites fault.

From the manager: Thankyou for your review. We are glad to read you enjoyed your stay and all the facilities we have to offer. We are open all year and find that hard-standing pitches are better (especially in the winter months). The road was busier than usual that weekend however glad to read you will visit again. We look forward to welcoming you back.

Pleasant, well maintained site in a courtyard setting
Powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite (large, twin axle)
Liked Size of the site was lovely. Toilet and shower facilities were excellent, as were the shared kitchen and lounge room. Site is convenient for exploring the Buxton and Bakewell area. Also very close to Tagg Farm Dairy for delicious ice cream.
Disliked The road noise from a busy A road adjacent to the site linking the A515 to the A6, used by heavy trucks and motorcyclists from early morning to late evening.
The superpitch area is in a courtyard setting and the pitch size only just accommodated our large single axle van and midi awning, with little room to sit outside, operate a barbeque etc.
