What customers say
Peaceful, spacious site with stunning views & friendly hosts. Loved the back-to-basics feel (fire pits, compost toilets) & farm shop. Some noted limited showers, occasional noise & challenging access for low cars.

Liked Beautiful views and generous pitches, although it did get a bit busy on our second night due to bank holiday we still felt like we had a good amount of space and had a peaceful nights sleep. We enjoyed using the fire pit too. Would definitely return!

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Large, spacious camping fields on a farm. The compost loos don't smell at all and are maintained really well. Owners are lovely, just a phonecall or text away if you need anything. We got space on a busy August Bank Holiday Weekend and despite the site being full it never felt loud or crowded. The fields are rolling hills but plenty of flat ground around the edges and you can drive around to find the right spot. Groups are allowed which is nice as they need somewhere to welcome them, but again it never felt loud and people respected the 10.30pm quiet rule. Don't come here if you are expecting a bowling green flat field and luxury shower blocks but do come if you like the basic outdoors and beautiful.

Very disappointed. We gave up and went to find a different site.
Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite
Liked Hill top location
Disliked Had to approach the site through a farmyard resembling a scene from Mad Max. Not enough facilities for the size of the site. Hugely over priced. Very noisy.

From the manager: Hello,
I'm so sorry that you had this experience. I have checked back on our booking sheet and can see that we don't have you as checked in, meaning you didn't stop at the main gate and call the phone number to check in as the signage asks you too. I fear this was the root of things not working out...
The reason we ask people to stop and call & formally check in is precisely because we are a working farm, not a commercial campsite. Mad Max is perhaps a slight exaggeration!! But there is a lot of metal work around the entrance yes. We have an (award winning!) Blacksmith on site and many of his sculptures are by the main entrance. There is also a lot of current & old farm machinery by this entrance because as I say, we are a working farm! Some people might find that unsightly - most people find it charming. It's the reality of a working farm.
Facilities are discreetly built into hedgerows for example, and when people check in we explain where everything can be found and reiterate that if you need anything at all whilst on site then please call us.
The campsite was fairly busy last Saturday yes, as it often is in the middle of the summer holidays. On the few occasions I walked around the site on Saturday no-one was being disruptively noisy. Groups were playing rounders, football, cricket and there was an enthusiastic game of articulate happening!
Apologies again we didn't meet your expectations. We know our set up isn't for everyone, and I am genuinely sad you felt you had to leave and go to find somewhere else to camp. I will refund you now.

Disliked Nothing really. There could be more toilets but it wasn’t a major issue. Will be returning

From the manager: Hello,
We're really glad you enjoyed your stay, Yes, the views are gorgeous aren't they they :)
There are 7 compost loos on site all together which we've always thought is quite a lot for our size of farm, but I think often people don't notice where they are tucked away in the corners of fields. We'll look at improving our signage. Thanks for the feedback.
Hope to see you again sometime,
Best

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Beautiful countryside surrounding the campsite, and a lovely, safe space for my kids to run around in. The field that we were in had very few other tents, which was nice as it was pretty quiet and I didn't feel like we were disturbing others either.
Logs and sausages were available on arrival too.
Disliked I can't think of anything.
