What customers say
Adults-only spot for peaceful stays, handy bus to York. Pitches neat, spacious; showers clean & warm. Cafe gets rave reviews for food. Some mention iffy shower pressure/drainage after rain. No reception, no pre-allocated pitches.

Amazing, definitely returning

Liked Absolutely brilliant little site, never went to the café as only there 1 night but will definitely return. Shower/toilets where lovely and clean and able to set temperature.. easy to find, quiet, stones through from York, dog friendly 👌
Disliked For some maybe difficult due to no official plot for you, basically turn up and pick a plot. Sometimes good, sometimes not so good

Liked Quiet site.
Disliked Portaloo wasn’t nice, it’s quite a walk from the top of the site to the toilet and shower block. Someone to greet us on site and explain things would have been useful. Pitch isn’t allocated

Liked Peaceful location, cafe on site which is handy, bus stop at the bottom of the drive for access into York.
Disliked The boiler was broken so no hot water in the sinks
Electric showers, there are 4 showers
The first one I went into said on the poster to press the botton behind the door to turn on the power to the shower, but no button as it had been blanked off, so had to get dressed and use the one next door, the one next door had a temperature issue is was either scolding hot or freezing cold and nothing in between.
Other than the showers/hot water everything else was ok.

Beautiful site but not massively welcomed by those on seasonal pitches
Powered gravel caravan site
Liked It was quiet, the pitches were well maintained, the dog walk was great and everyone was lovely.
Loved the cafe too, and great transport links to York.
Disliked There are a limited number of touring pitches and we didn’t feel massively welcomed by those with seasonal pitches.
Plus I was bitten by a dog owned by a seasonable pitch holder which didn’t go down well.
