From the manager: Thanks for your review. Having just spoken to you on the phone I think we have agreed that human error is a terribe thing!

On receipt of your booking at 15:05 we realised we had double booked your chosen accommodation, we cancelled your booking 15 minutes after receiving it, commenced the full refund and we offered alternative dates with a substantial discount available if you could fit it in with a one day variation.

Your booking was made on 4 September for your celebrations on 7 September so I'm sorry we have spoiled your last minute birthday plans. At the earliest oportunity we issued a full refund to yourselves (Pitch Up) and your other party (booked direct).

We had several phone calls to try and resolve this situation and eventually could not co-ordinate with your other members of the party. I fully understand your frustration!

Having chatted with you, you now understand this is only the second time this has happened and is down to our mistake completely. We are very sorry! Thanks for your understanding and kind words - we can still be friends!

Liked We had a brilliant time, the site is stunning, amazing views , great facilities , lovely area with great walks and short drives to great villages, and a short walk to Hutton le hole. The staff were brilliant , really helpful when calling ahead of our arrival and the wardens were brilliant, always happy to stop and chat plus they helped us settle in.

We met some lovely guests too everyone was very friendly. The tent field is lovely with great views of the sunset , loads of wildlife about. We took our dog too and he has a great time, the farm walk was great to give him a walk off the lead and it felt like a really dog friendly site.

We will definitely be back , and reconnecting to friends and family, one of if not the best camping experiences we have ever had.

Disliked Having to pack up and leave , we would have tied to extend our stay if we didn’t have to go back to work!

Thanks for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. We're pretty realistic about things and understand when you can't arrive when you think you would and we try and accommodate most things!
Thankfully we have some fantastic guests on site, some hard working wardens who are happy to help and some inside staff who can put your mid at rest when you're running late! It's meant to be a holiday after all!

We tend not to push the dog firnedly bit as too many wouldn't make it friendly! But yes a dog wash area, plenty of dog litter bins and a great farm walk up around the nab to burn off some steam. Woof woof!

From the manager: Thank you for your review, we're glad you liked our bell tent. Electric blankets needed now in what has been a quick change in the weather! The bell tents come down at the end of September but we will have country lodges and the Shepherds Hut for a little later in the season!

From the manager: Thanks for leaving a review. We've tried to reduce the time taken to clean the toilets, showrs and laundry area but we have pretty high standards and the floor won't dry in any less time. We are not going to spoil your holiday with a slip on the tiles!

From the manager: Thanks for your review of your stay on our site. We have a great team who have been with us for some seasons now and they know how to look after the site and keep it to the standard people expect on holiday.
As for the signs.....some people read them and some people don't! It's so hard to make sure everyone knows what is expected of them so that everyone can get on and enjoy their holiday. The rules are there to make lives easier, or that's what we aim for. It's tempting to take them all down and see how we all get on but we aren't sure that would work either!
Safe to say you've enjoyed your stay and be assured we are chasing the man about the WiFi!
