What customers say

Great campsite, with top-notch facilities and a stunning natural vibe. Staff are consistently friendly and helpful. Handy location for the Broads and Norwich, with loads to do. Most had a perfect stay, though a few noted some noise and occasional hot water or service hiccups.

Upper Meadow unpowered grass tent site

Liked Lovely little campsite, everywhere is in view so my children could run off as the pleased, great park & close amenities. The staff were really friendly and helpful & great with the kids. The local boat hut was really friendly & conscientious too. I have no complaints, we’re now going again next week!! Also, the toilets and showers were cleaned everyday & well stocked, well presented too. There is a shop on site that is really reasonably priced & on the field with the campers.

Disliked Nothing.

Upper Meadow unpowered grass tent site

Liked I didn’t end up staying at this site due to an error in booking.

Disliked Customer service was appalling. Due an error in booking, I asked to amend the date of the stay immediately after booking. I accepted this might not be possible but the manner in which they handled the request was appalling. I complained to the managed and, after acknowledging the complaint, they have not yet responded any further. Do not book.

Lower Meadow unpowered grass tent or motorhome site

Liked Beautiful campsite with very friendly and accommodating staff, felt very welcome from start to finish. The toilets and shower block is very clean and tidy with ample room. The onsite shop caters for all essentials and more for what you may need (or have forgotten).

The surrounding woodland and camp area is kept very clean and tidy. This makes for a very safe and enjoyable place to stay for the day. The city centre is a 10 minute drive away with plenty of places to eat and drink.

Watersports are on your doorstep too. We will definitely be back to stay.

Disliked There is no WiFi, which not being essential, is handy to have.
You do get a good signal though, so not too much of a problem.

Cabin (mezzanine)

Liked We stayed in the cabin it was perfect for our needs and very comfortable for our party of 4.

Disliked The sheets for the spare bed could have been cleaner. And the kitchen needed a colander but everything else perfect.

Local attractions

Sticking to the Broads – just to start with – you’ll have the pick of waterside walks, watersports, cycling and wildlife spotting on the Whitlingham Broad doorstep. The café next to the campsite has a visitor centre with interactive info on the Broads to help you narrow things down a bit, and you can also catch the river boat here into Norwich city centre. For something a little more unusual, a ski club is a smooth 10 minutes away. Walks with a view are all around the site and within easy dandering distance: kids might like to monkey around on the child-friendly low ropes course through the nearby woods, in a spot where there’s also a play pirate ship to batten down the hatches at and an old lime kiln to have a peek at (be careful not to disturb the bats that roost there). The Wherryman’s Way path along the Yare in the Yare Valley is also a very good walk (and ends at a very good pub); the 12 circular walks along its route are handy for those who don’t fancy following it all the 35 miles to Great Yarmouth.
