Warwickshire countryside

  • Small and simple site on a Warwickshire family farm
  • A 15-minute drive from Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick Castle
  • Hikes, fishing and open-water swimming in the surrounding area
Well, here’s a winning Warwickshire location for an alfresco break – Owl Barn Farm Camping is a small and family-oriented site 15 minutes’ drive from Stratford-upon-Avon and close to the Cotswolds National Landscape. This countryside site is part of a family-run farm that you’ll be sharing with the resident chickens and goats. (They live in a separate enclosure, but are always happy to receive visitors…) You’ll be staying on grass pitches with access to simple facilities such as toilets, showers and a washing-up area. As for activities, on select dates during high season, the site runs popular goat-yoga sessions. Your cat-cow pose will never be the same after attempting it with a pygmy goat on your back… Filling your days with outdoor pursuits should be straightforward around here: there are lots of walking trails to choose from, plus options nearby for fishing, paddleboarding and open-water swimming. You’ll be able to tick off major landmarks too, including Stratford’s various Shakespeare-themed attractions and Warwick Castle (15 minutes’ drive). Meanwhile, if you’re here on a Saturday, you’ll be able to head over the road and seek out treasures at Wellesbourne Airfield Market. For other shopping (such as meal ingredients), there are a couple of supermarkets five minutes’ drive away; for those who'd rather eat out, there are a few pubs around the area and plenty of places to choose from in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Peaceful, family-friendly spot with spacious pitches & a relaxed vibe. Owners are super helpful, kids love the goats & chickens. Facilities are clean, hot showers cost a bit. Great base for exploring, with a cafe & supermarket nearby. Still developing with planned improvements.

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Owl Barn Farm is one of those rare campsites that instantly makes you feel at home. From the moment we arrived, Vicky’s warmth and energy set the tone for an unforgettable stay. She didn’t just run the site — she brought it to life, especially for the children. They were invited to join in real farm tasks like feeding the chickens and goats, turning everyday moments into memories they’re still talking about. The entire site felt incredibly safe and contained, giving us complete peace of mind to relax while the kids explored freely. The facilities were clean, well‑kept, and more than sufficient for everything we needed, striking that perfect balance between rustic charm and practical comfort. We genuinely had a brilliant time from start to finish. Owl Barn Farm is the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit, which we have!

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Lovely peaceful setting, great host and facilities excellent

Disliked Unfortunately on day 2 the toliets/showers in Ladies had not been cleaned so were dirty. I'm hoping this was an oversight and not the norm or we would have given 10/10

Liked We had a great stay at Owl Barn Farm despite forgetting sleeping bags and folding chairs, we could pitch under trees in the centre of the site with shade and park our car next to the tent, ideal to avoid lugging kit backwards and forwards

Local attractions

National Trust - Charlecote Park (five minutes’ drive), on the banks of the River Avon, is a Tudor-era mansion that was refurbished in Elizabethan Revival style in the 1800s. As well as a servants’ quarter with a Victorian kitchen, a brewhouse and a laundry room, there’s splendid parkland – designed by Capability Brown and inhabited by deer. Warwick Castle (15 minutes) was built by William the Conqueror in the 11th century and is remarkably well preserved, with opulent staterooms and the impressive Great Hall, with its chequered floor and displays of weapons and armour. Attractions in Stratford-upon-Avon (15 minutes) include Shakespeare’s Birthplace, a half-timbered building with themed areas exploring the Bard’s influences and his works. His wife Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, a thatched structure on the outskirts of town, has original furniture and pretty gardens. For something as far removed from Elizabethan literature as possible, head to the Stratford-upon-Avon Racecourse, with two enclosures – and a Champagne Bar…
