What customers say
A chilled-out rural escape with awesome views & space. Love the freedom to pick your spot, direct walking access, and fire pits. Facilities are clean but basic (portaloos, cold showers). A few mentioned noise, and toilet upkeep issues, though management's sorting it. Great for peace and natural beauty.

Charming place
Unpowered grass and earth campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked Very lovely place. Quiet and charming <3 nice walks nearby as well.
Disliked There was no bonfire at this day but some people didnt care and had a bonfires … nothing was done about that.
The dashboard… that is impossible to see anything while you driving. We should check in as per dashboard but we had no clue as we wasnt walking that way to see.

Always fun to return to the campsite.
Unpowered grass and earth campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked I love the location, the flat field, the massive space for kids to play and the view. We have been there quite a few times now.
Disliked Portaloos are not great, clean but no toilet paper or soap available on our last visit.

Unpowered grass and earth campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked A really great campsite in such a lovely location. We had loads of space eventhough it was a busy weekend. Facilities are basic but very clean. It was a lovely peaceful site and the owners made sure that there was no noise after 10.30. We had such a lovely weekend with our family. I’d highly recommend.

Great weekend for relaxing
Unpowered grass and earth campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked The spot is absolutely stunning and facilities are clean.
I was there during some hot hot weather so no fires allowed which is totally understandable.
Site gets busy at the weekends with families and kids which really nice to see and hear.
Local walks are beautiful and full of wildlife.
Disliked It’s great that you can choose your pitch … however while out for lunch a pitch turned up in my parking spot. Easily resolved.

A scenic location perfect for exploring the area on foot.
Unpowered grass and earth campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked Scenic campsite, surrounded by fields and with easy access to walk along the Ridgeway and other walking routes. Plenty of space to pitch up a tent away from others. I paid extra to check out late but it seemed silly as there was hardly anyone there.
Disliked There was a lot of noise from motorbikes on the nearby road, which disrupted an otherwise very peaceful location. The campsite field and surrounding paths weren't suitable for cycling. It's a farming area so there was the standard farm smell lingering in the air.

I liked it.
Unpowered grass and earth campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked The campsite is a large, fairly flat grassy field that is ideal for tents. The Ridgeway runs along one side of it and is accessible from the campsite which is surrounded by attractive countryside while at the same time not being very far from Wallingford (approximately 40 minutes to one hour on foot depending on speed and route chosen…..obviously much quicker by car but I didn’t drive there so I don’t know what it is like for parking).
Facilities are fairly basic (cold water showers, open air washing up sinks and portaloos) but that is made clear when booking and is reflected in the price and is less than what my friends paid in a hotel in Wallingford.
Disliked Not a dislike but more of a recommendation that it might be useful for signage to say that the water is drinkable. A couple of people I asked who had been there for a few days said that they had been drinking it with no ill effects and another mentioned that all of the water comes in on one pipe and is drinkable.

Would recommend and return
Unpowered grass and earth campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked Simplicity of the arrangements, spaciousness of the site, amazing views, peaceful vibe despite many campers
Disliked Not a dislike, just a wish for more showers on site.

From the manager: Thanks Marta, we have discussed adding more showers but it's not currently viable with the current layout. Watch this space though as we are looking to change a few things next season.
