  • Small, peaceful farm site with fishing on the England/Wales border
  • A 10-minute drive from the Forest of Dean; 30 minutes to a Go Ape site
  • Cycle hire 15 minutes' drive; bar and café on site
Settle in for an afternoon's fishing and look out for wildlife like deer, rabbits and birds, all in a lovely Welsh/English border locale among old oak trees and Neolithic stones… welcome to Broadstone Park. This is a small, peaceful and family-run site between the market towns of Monmouth and Coleford, named after those Neolithic stones and in an area with plenty of options for walking, cycling and other outdoorsy activities. Indeed, the site is well-liked among the mountain biking community. Set yourself up for a day of pedalling at the Forest of Dean Cycle Centre, 15 minutes' drive away, or a day of family-friendly activities at Puzzlewood, 10 minutes' drive away. Back at base, there is a small spring-fed coarse fishery for guests' use, stocked with carp, rudd, perch and bream and open daily from dawn to dusk. There's also a bar and a café on site for easy refreshments. Other facilities at Broadstone Park include a toilet and shower block.

What customers say

Great site, friendly staff and stunning walks. Kids loved the play area, adults the bar and pizzas. Lakes are a bonus. Facilities mostly good, though some felt they needed a refresh and more cleaning when busy. Road noise noted, but overall a hit!

Check ln was super simple, everything explained and even shown around. Everything you need is onsite. Including a cute little bar and some yummy Stonehouse pizzas!

Disliked Potholes on the road on the way in & children’s park is on the smaller side (still practical)

Power optional grass site

Liked We enjoyed our short stay and will go again. Unfortunately was very wet and raining but we had a spot on flat ground and close to driveway. So our campervan got in and out easily.

Power optional grass site

Liked Absolutely everything!
Beautiful scenery, lots of space, tons of walks from the site, clean-good quality facilities, cafe was incredibly delicious (we had pizzas and full English breakfasts), friendly hosts and staff, cute farm animals, electric metre was a great addition as you only pay what you use and was very easy to set up.

Disliked Nothing, just book here, there's a reason it has won awards!

Local attractions

Straight from the rear of the site are several woodland walks, one of which takes guests past the Broad Stone, after which Broadstone Park was named. Others cover part of Offa's Dyke and walks to Monmouth, the River Wye and local viewpoints like famed Symonds Yat: ask the site team for their faves to follow. Also in the area are heritage options like Caldicot Castle and the Clearwell Caves, and the buildings and pleasure grounds of the Kymin, highly praised by one Admiral Nelson (take the trek up to the Round House for the best views). Many other walks, cycle paths and swinging around in the trees at Go Ape are in the Forest of Dean, half an hour's drive away, and both Monmouth and Coleford are around 15 minutes' drive away for more urbanised days out.
