What customers say

Peaceful spot, handy location. Reviews highlight spacious sites, friendly hosts & great farm shop. Guests loved the rural vibe, fishing & clean facilities, with pods & huts a hit. A few noted uneven ground & occasional toilet tidiness issues. New facilities coming!

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Everything was great. The quality of the meat in the farm shop is exceptional and the staff are really friendly (I highly recommend the rosemary and garlic marinade). The camp site was peaceful and cooking on the A frame was a lot easier than on a normal fire pit.

Disliked Nothing

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Peaceful site, very relaxed and quiet. Owner was lovely on the phone.

Disliked Toilets/showers were great facilities including flowers but were a bit dirty at times. However I do feel this is more the fault of some campers not being very respectful. Could of done with a freezer to put ice blocks in. A bait shack would of been fab as we stupidly forgot to bring some!

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Brilliant site and a top couple(Tom & Rachel) who own the farm, they couldn't do enough for you, even gave us access to a charging point on our last day to charge up power banks and phones. The site has plenty of room a pond to do some fishing in if thats your thing, shower block and toilets were brilliant. We got there and Tom said just go and pitch up were you want,so we went as close as we could to the shower block, incase of night time use.The farm shop as meet to die for and all reared on the farm,so a massive choice for your Bbq,wood and kindling also sold on site, and firepits to hire.We are already planning our next visit here.Brilliant.Graham,Louise,Jack and Saff.

Unpowered grass caravan site

Liked Location, easy to get to from the motorway, no tiny roads or low bridges. Large pitches, relaxed attitude to camping. Fishing lake on site. Farm shop on site and the produce is amazing and local. Straight forward attitude to pricing structure. Showers, toilets and pot washing are all available. No push buttons or shower curtains in sight! As a solo female traveller, I felt safe. Staff were friendly and informative - available for information, but not intrusive in your stay. I pitched up on the busiest weekend of the year, but it still didn't feel crowded. I'll definitely be back.

Disliked Difficult to find a level pitch, but I've seen a lot worse.

Unpowered grass caravan site

Liked Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely peaceful place, you can choose where you pitch, there's a lake, picnic tables, and a field opposite where the dogs can be let off the lead.

Disliked We would have stayed longer if EHU was available.

Local attractions

For active family days out in the fresh air, Clowne Branchline Greenway (15 minutes by bike) promises gentle rides along a former railway line. It links into the multi-use Archaeological Way, which passes old collieries on its way to the gorge and museum at Creswell Crags (both half an hour). There are more adventures to be had in the Peak District National Park (half an hour’s drive), like hiking along the banks of the River Derwent or maybe testing yourselves on a section of the Pennine Way from Edale (an hour). If you’d like to tick a few stately piles off your to-see list, the spectacular Chatsworth House (40 minutes) is open for tours of its sumptuous apartments and scenic walks through landscaped grounds. Nearby is majestic Hardwick Hall (20 minutes), where you can admire Elizabethan architecture at its best, while at hillside Bolsover Castle (10 minutes) there is a circular rampart walk with views over the Vale of Scarsdale. Still not had your fill of history? Head to Chesterfield (20 minutes) to marvel at the twisted steeple on the Crooked Spire church.
