  • Family-friendly site a short walk from Willen Lake and Campbell Park
  • Waterside location couple of minutes' walk to Campbell Wharf Marina
  • Pub, watersports centre and adventure park within walking distance
Adventurers Village is a grand place to spend your Buckinghamshire break. That’s particularly true for those bringing kids along – not only does it have heaps of space for them to gallop about, but it’s also handily placed right next door to the fab Gulliver’s Land theme park (so that’s a few days out sorted… as they’ll probably helpfully suggest). There’s plenty to appeal to the grownups here too: all that playing space is conveniently placed to allow for parents to keep an eye on their offspring while putting their feet up on their own patch. Amenities have been added to make life run smoothly, including a parent-and-baby bathroom and a launderette to sort out any mucky pups. That site is a tree-filled peaceful one, but it’s easy to take a break from driving duties as there’s much within easy toddling distance here: lakeside strolls, watersports, fishing and an adventure park are all within a few minutes’ walk, as is a riverside pub. You could even amble the mile or so into central Milton Keynes for cinemas, shops and restaurants, but there’s always the option of flagging down a bus if you’re feeling faint of foot. Want to venture a bit further? There’s plenty more to see and do in the surrounds, and the M1’s only a couple of minutes away – thus making Adventurers Village a super stopover option on cross-country jaunts too.

What customers say

Great spot near Gulliver's Land/Willen Lake. Staff are legend, kids love it. Facilities generally clean, but can be a bit dated. Watch out for muddy bits in bad weather and limited parking. Bit of noise sometimes.

Woodland hideout camping pod

Liked Excellent little pod, very comfortable beds and surprisingly spacious, walked around the village and was impressed with the amount of variety of apartments to stay in. Shower room clean. Great that the little pod we had had electric too! For £50 a night was perfect place for us as we just wanted a bed for the night for an outside event we were going to. Would defo come back with our little people for a little holiday.

Disliked Check in was a little late 4pm and very expensive (£30) for an early check in. Got there at 3 and nothing was open to get a drink whilst waiting. Was directed off site to a restaurant to wait. Reception staff wasn’t the friendliest and coffee machine was broke (not the end of the world) was sent through to the restaurant to be sent back to reception to get coffee?

Powered grass tent site (pet friendly)

Liked Good to find an electric pitch at short notice when booking

Disliked Couldn't take your car to the pitch to unload camping equipment - we've stayed here before and you could drive to your pitch, you just couldn't park next to your tent as quite a few campsites do.
They've now changed this so not very convenient and apart from mentioning on the pitch info when booking that you couldn't park at the pitch there was no prior warning about this, had we known we would have brought our festival trolley - lots of other guests weren't aware of this either.
Was told there were trolleys available to transport stuff from car park to pitch but there were none - luckily we found someone who had just finished using one so grabbed that but there were no others and lots of guests looking.
They need to have more trolleys for guests and make it clearer on their booking information about the no parking and no cars allowed at pitch as they are two different things when booking campsites
Staff weren't really sure what they were doing - everyone that was camping in the electric field were all told to pitch on the same number pitch and even after the electric field was full (no available hook ups left) they were still advertising as having space
Showers were cold and everything was just tired and could do with a bit of TLC
Its not a bad site just tired and uncared for
Location was perfect for our needs and is a fantastic site for children

Unpowered grass tent site (pet friendly)

Liked Reasonably priced, but you get what you pay for!

Disliked There are hardly any trolleys available for guests, so be prepared to make several long walks with your belongings. The site grounds/ setup has changed, so you are actually right in Gullivers land amongst themed cabins. Great for families, but unlikely to be your thing without kids. Customer service was lacking. Facilities were dated. No security and minimal site supervision.

Local attractions

What’s that little tug on your sleeve? Could it be the tiddlers encouraging you towards Gulliver’s Land? No surprises there – the place is packed with more than 70 rides and shows, all aimed at fun-seekers aged between two and 13. A log flume, an indoor play area, a runaway train, a maze, an enchanted forest, a cowboy town… it’s safe to say there’s stacks here for the small sorts. And the surrounds are stacked too: take a short walk to Willen Lake for activities both watery and landlubbing. Get wet with freshwater swims, wakeboarding, windsurfing or a go on the inflatable obstacle course, or keep your powder dry with hours of walks, archery, fishing, miniature railway rides and treks on the treetop trails. There’s a multitude of Milton Keynes cultural doings nearby too – the site is a few minutes’ drive from shows at the Milton Keynes Theatre and historic collections at the Milton Keynes Museum, and about 10 minutes from Bletchley Park, where you can get up to speed on the exploits of the World War II codebreakers.
