What customers say

A grand, tranquil spot, loved for its scenery & seaside access. Unique outdoor showers, a shared kitchen & welcoming hosts are often mentioned. Good value for most, though some found it simple & had minor gripes with facilities & noise. Ideal for a proper back-to-nature trip.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Unspoiled views, very peaceful, well maintained, quiet. Check in was very easy and the site was easy to find.

Disliked No bins, no roof on showers (hot water though!). No WiFi if that's something you want/need. A little expensive for what it was

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Nice flat field which has plenty of space to park up. Toilets are basic but clean. Can walk in to Clarach where you can use the bars of the two big caravan parks. Walk to the right hand side of the beach to find the dog area, which does have some sandy parts.

Disliked Signage in to site is poor and it is easy to miss the turning. Be warned the showers are truly "outdoors" so used our own. The fags to the footpath need to be made bigger/more obvious.

Liked Beautiful field. Really peaceful. Toilet and showers simple but great. I liked your shelter. It was great that you had a kettle to make tea with and a place to shelter from a storm.

Disliked Loved it.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked If you are looking for a site that is quiet and peaceful and back to nature then this is the site for you. It has beautiful views and is near Clarach Bay. Loved the open topped shower and covered kitchen area. The toilets are clean but a little basic (cold water, no hand dryer or paper towels).

Disliked The welcome email does try and indicate where the entrance is, we still drove past it when arriving early evening. Once you are aware, it is not a problem.
Having stayed at other pitchup sites previously, it is a little pricey by comparison. However, this is definitely a site to visit again, especially peaceful as long as you stay well away from the road!

Meadow non-electric grass tent pitch (backpacker, no cars)

Liked Plenty of space and available spaces to pitch up, we both enjoyed the views. And the scenery around us.
Suitable facilities
Clean and tidy areas
People were friendly
Easily found (even if we did ride past it)
Able to park the bike next to the tent.
Overall a clean and tidy areas and camp site.
Very friendly, easy checking in via phone call.

Disliked Not too sure about open top showers 😀.Only used right one (so can't speak for the other ),it was cold and shower tray was overflowing .It was very busy and understand this could have been town to the sheer amount of usage !Would definitely stay again though .

Orchard 1 bedroom cabin

Liked excellent location and absolutely lovely cabin arrangement -- self-contained and quiet

very friendly owners who also let me leave my (otherwse unsecure) motorbike on their property for the day while I was out hiking

Disliked no wifi I believe (but I did not need it so didn't ask)

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked We loved it! Short walk to the beach (a stoney beach) but it’s beautiful! The views are incredible!
The site was great for us, toilet facilities, shower facilities which were all part of our adventure with a toddler with open tops, a small cooking and washing up area!
We met one of the owners who was just lovely, taking the time to talk to us and our little girl! Would recommend :)

Local attractions

It’s likely that you’ll be popping to Aberystwyth (five minutes’ drive) for supplies – but don’t limit your outing to just the shops, as this coastal town also has a castle and museum to visit and the funicular Cliff Railway to ride. You can also board the Vale of Rheidol Railway here for a trip to the Devil’s Bridge waterfalls. Elsewhere along the coast it’s worth visiting Borth (10 minutes) at low tide to see the petrified forest, or heading a little further along the coast for a day in Aberaeron (half an hour), often described as one of the prettiest seaside locations in Wales. New Quay (45 minutes) should be on the cards for dolphin-spotting boat trips too. Back on land, there’s more wildlife to see at RSPB Ynys-hir nature reserve (20 minutes) or Bwlch Nant yr Arian Forest (20 minutes), which has walking and bike trails as well as a red kite feeding centre where you can see the big birds up close as they swoop in for their lunch.
