  • Dog-friendly site in a peaceful country park in Lincolnshire
  • A 15-minute drive from Lincoln and 55 minutes from Skegness
  • Picnic areas, dog walk and CCTV cameras on site
What might you get up to at Barlings Country Holiday Park? Cycling and walking in the peaceful Lincolnshire countryside – or skipping between seaside resorts such as Skegness and Mablethorpe, 55 minutes’ drive away? Set in a country park 15 minutes’ drive from Lincoln, the site has 23 acres and a rather attractive backdrop, with lakes adding a splash of scenery. Perhaps you'll want to plop down in one of the peaceful picnic areas with your dog beside you (two dogs are permitted per pitch, as long as they're kept on a lead and accompanied at all times). For their morning walkies, just head to the on-site dog walk and the waste bin at the end of the footpath when they do their business. Other facilities on site include a central modern amenities block with wet rooms (disabled shower facilities and baby changing too), plus a slightly older shower block further into the park. The amenities block has water filling and emptying points, recycling points, a washing-up area and a coin-operated laundry room. Things already feel pretty spacious and private here, but you're even more likely to sleep soundly with a belly full of tasty food from the several food shops, restaurants and pubs 10 minutes’ drive away. There are also CCTV cameras on site for your security and peace of mind.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Easy check in and key fob for the gates which made us feel safe.
Clean facilities.
Nice little dog walk area which our kids loved and saw lots of wildlife.
Great staff! The bloke that works weekends was great. Did a good job, warned us of the unsafe tree not far from us and were great with the kids!

If you’re going soon - the ground is very hard from the lack of rain. We struggled to get pegs in and out! Needed a claw hammer to pull the pegs up. This is the first time we’ve had this problem.

Disliked The showers need a major update.
We tried pretty much all the showers between us. Some were luke warm, some stayed on for a few sedans while others stayed on for 30 seconds. One shower was really hot - glad I didn’t take my children in there! Need showers that stay on and can control the temperature.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked We loved everything about this site. It was very clean and was peaceful. The lady at reception was very lovely and was friendly, making us feel welcome from the get go.

There are geese and ducks on site which were cute and a pleasure to watch with their young.

There is a designated area for dog walking by the river which is a god send. We have been to sites before that say dog walking area but there clearly wasn’t one, so to have one was a real bonus for us.

The site is very quiet and everyone we came across was friendly. There were 2 shower blocks that we saw, our nearest one looked old and dated, but inside was lovely and warm and spotlessly clean. Plenty of room to get showered and changed with hooks for your belongings.

On arrival, you are given a map of the site and an information booklet, as well as a fob for the security gate.

There are shops within a 10 minute drive (a weakness for me as there was a LIDL, and their freshly baked pastries and sweet treats are amazing) so I drove over on Sunday morning to get some croissants for breakfast. 🥐

We were here over a weekend and the was even an ice cream van that came on the site which was a lovely surprise 🍦

This site is really well laid out with everything you could ask for. We will definitely be coming back!! 👌🏻

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked The lake view pitches.

Disliked Seemed like they weren't actually pitches but part of the carpark. Showers were dated at best. The more recent ones were filthy & luke warm. Elsan point was blocked & over flowing.
There was music playing somewhere around from 4pm till 6am despite being told it was quiet time from 11pm. Staff said it came from a farm 3 miles away which i doubt, it was very clear to be that far away.

From the manager: Hello
I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay.
To address a couple of points in your review. The toilets were cleaned twice daily so i am sorry you found them dirty i can only assume it was in between cleans. As for the music it was the farmer in Sudbrooke having a birthday party for one of his children. His land comes right up to near the level crossing in Langworth which is why it seemed so nearby. I personally patrolled park several times as i like you were disturbed by the noise. Had it have been anyone on park they would have most definitely been told to stop.

Local attractions

It's a hop, skip and a jump from the site to Woodside Wildlife Park (five minutes' drive), a local zoo with live feeding demonstrations where you can get up close and personal with an array of animals. More family-friendly animal antics are on hand at similarly nearby Rand Farm Park too (10 minutes), where there is also indoor and outdoor play for younger visitors. Look to Lincoln (15 minutes) for days out with grownups and older kids: it's got a castle, a cathedral, an ancient copy of the Magna Carta and excellent opportunities for shopping, dining and exploring old cobbled streets. If you liked being on your feet in Lincoln, head to the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (25 minutes) for more rambling, this time in the countryside, and take on some of the 76-mile Lincolnshire Wolds Way. Hearing the call of the coast? It's just under an hour to seaside towns like Cleethorpes, Skegness with its pier and Mablethorpe with its amusements.
