Primitive grass campsite (pet friendly)
Liked Close to wild camping really! Choose your own pitch and enjoy. I liked the relaxed pace, the walks in quiet farming area and the quirkiness of the site. Was met at check in with friendly greeting and would come again.

Liked Scenery is amazing in a lovely field. Basic needs on site like tap, bins and loo disposal, etc. The owner's daughter was very helpful in communication and came to see if I was ok once set up. I liked watching the sheep in the field next to me. Felt secure as gated, not far from farm and far enough out the way from the main road. Perfect for a quiet and restful camp!
Disliked Grass maybe a bit long, wasn't an issue in hot weather though, but would be with dew or rain.

Liked It was nice and small, big pitch space and tap close to the pitch. Good instructions on where my pitch was and lovely to wake up to birds singing and sunshine.

Liked Being in the middle of the forest, the walks, the simplicity of the place. Warden was friendly and bought round bottle water when they had a water problem. Pleased that even though lots mountain bikers about, we all shared the walks with bikes, dogs and pedestrians. A pleasant atmosphere and friendly.
Disliked £4 per dog made it expensive, so probably a once off visit. Got a bit busy with people using the campsite as a walk through but people were nice enough.

Liked Quiet, lots walks near the Canal, can hear the birds singing and so pretty.
Disliked Not much but be careful not to clunk your finger in the metal gate like I did!

Liked Scenery is amazing, peaceful fields and decent facilities for toilets, washing up and showers. Site owner showed me where to walk my dogs. Strict no off lead dogs policy - which was fine by me.
Disliked Some walks involved walking on main road to get to the canal walks. Which got rather busy with heavy trucks on the main route. Not the campsites fault though.

Liked Lovely clean site, camped in front of gorgeous gypsy waggon (waiting for conversion) and visited the pub on Friday night. Friendly staff and the owner showed me the inside of one of the gypsy waggons he is converting. Should be amazing when its ready. Pity I had only booked one night!
