Speed demons, meanwhile, can zoom about at Daytona go-karting circuit (20 minutes) or scream their way around the rides at Drayton Manor Theme Park (25 minutes). Gentler days out nearby might involve meeting monkeys, giraffes and all sorts of other species at Twycross Zoo (20 minutes) or taking steps back to days of yore at Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre (20 minutes) and Tamworth Castle (25 minutes).
