Peaceful spacious pitches

General

  • Family-run rural site with a lake and woodland views
  • Golf course and country park within five minutes' drive
  • A 10-minute walk from the local pub and microbrewery

There's not much finer than a leisurely woodland wander (with a dog in tow if you’ve got one that needs a holiday), a fresh pint in the local and a peaceful night’s slumber to cap it all off… If that’s the kind of break you’ve got planted in your mind, you may like to consider dallying a while at Delamere, a family-run site five minutes’ drive from Atherstone.

This rural spot backs onto Warwickshire woodland, and there are plenty more places to stretch your legs locally, including the fab Hartshill Hayes Country Park, a couple of miles away. Prefer to flex your golfing muscles? There’s an 18-hole course five minutes’ drive away, too.

For an evening pint at the end of it all, a 10-minute amble will get you over to the village pub, or to the local microbrewery, where you can sample the house brews, chomp on local cheese and join in with social events (quiz nights, comedy nights and the like). If you’re not in the mood for such antics, there’s also a convenience store in the same location where you can stock up on supplies for a barbie back on site. Firepits are available to hire and logs available to buy.

And what a spot for a barbie this is – there’s an acre of space around the paddock, and some splendid views to be had over the site’s own lake. Aware that piles of facilities might risk spoiling the view, the folk here have kept things simple: they’ve just kitted the place out with a toilet block, a walk-in shower, a drinking water supply and bins to help you keep the place pristine.

Please note

This site has no on-site shower facilities.

Guests under the age of 18 are not allowed on site.

Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

No bachelor/bachelorette parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Firepit available to hire for £5. Seasoned firewood for sale at £4 per bag.

Peaceful location, clean toilet and shower block, very friendly owner who couldn't do enough for us, very cute and cosy bell tent with plenty of supplies (tea, coffee, bisxuits, hot water urn, camping stove etc) . Free firewood for the fire pit. Convenience store within 10 minute walk of the site.

    Disliked:

Nothing really. 50p a go for the shower but that's not really a problem (50p gets you more than 5 minutes of hot water)

We met up with friends who got there before us, they saw donkeys and goats and had a lovely walk around the small lake. We arrived early evening and parked easily, set up a bbq and had a very relaxed evening, even though it was quite windy! There are firepits on request, 2 teepee style tents with furniture etc all set up or you can just rock up with a tent. There is a toilet and shower room, which we didn't need to use.
It was quiet, relaxing and just what was needed, would recommend and will stay there again! Its a basic site with no frills, think its adults only (my friend booked it) but it you don't need ehu, shop, clubhouse or park then this is the place to try.

Very nice site, quiet and small enough to feel privet. The pond lake is very pretty too. The donkeys were a nice addition to the experience, although the 2 goats that visited us did so as part of a daring escape I would have been more than happy to have the as they were sweet and very entertaining. The donkeys seem to push their luck a little when the first meet you but provided you use a firm tone are well behaved.

The owners are very accommodating, we had not realised we would need 50p coins for the shower but Neal was happy to get us a couple in our change for a bag of logs. The shower isn't the most powerful but was certainly adequate to have a good wash and your money gets you plenty of time.

All in all a good site and exceptional value for money.

I liked that the site was no fuss, you are expected just to get on with things and if you need someone you can give them a call. We hired a tent so we could park next to it in the motorhome and spread out our sleeping arrangements.
Although there are things nearby, the site is a field with a pretty pool and nothing else. This is great when you don’t want to ‘do’ and just want to chill.
The bell tent was lovely. There was loads of space and the snacks and essentials were nicely presented. The bed was comfortable and I had a great nights sleep.
The bell tent had use of the fire pit which made the nights really awesome, sat out with the donkeys, toasting marshmallows.
The escaped goats that visited us made it extra lovely 😊

    Disliked:

There was nothing I disliked. Points to be aware of is that there is only one toilet and one shower (50p needed) at the moment. The site is on a working farm so naturally there is farm ‘stuff’ around, if you want perfect don’t book.
If a fly gets in the bell tent they can’t get out, so if you know that will bother you, pop a can of fly spray on your bag.
