East Leake, Nottinghamshire, England
FHU grass and gravel campsite
Liked Lovely location, friendly owners. Clean facilities. Added bonus alpacas. Also not everyone's cup of tea but loved being under the landing path of East midlands and watching the planes go over.

Liked Lovely pitch next to the river, didn't use EHU but was available. A friendly welcome, with excellent and clean facilities. Very handy location to paddleboard from, and a pleasant 20 min walk to a lovely pub with excellent food. Also a convenience shop in the garage opposite if needed.

Liked Lovely peaceful setting in a beautiful location. Loved the little caravan shop, very handy when I realised that I’d run out of teabags! The facilities were clean and the automatic heater in the shower was a great addition on a chilly weekend.

Liked Great location. Fantastic views. Handy toilet and shower facilities. Friendly staff. The cafe and shop on site were great, can thoroughly recommend the breakfast. Although I didn’t have one the fire pit kits at a great idea. Easy access to Monsal trail, which is stunning (you can do this mostly off the main road, but be aware of the very steep hill down to the river). Walking/biking distance to some lovely pubs in Tideswell and Litton. 25 mins drive away is Bugsworth Basin, where you can access Peak Forest canal for SUP or kayaking. I was only there for 3 nights but there were plenty of local walks too that I missed this time. Dog friendly.
Disliked Nothing about the campsite itself. As it’s a family site it can get quite noisy at times but you’d expect that.

Liked Absolutely stunning views! Plenty of space, access to Tissington and High Peaks trails across a field in a short time (a little steep down to trail or back up for some maybe, but no issue for me, even with a bike) Friendly and knowledgeable owner. Access to water and toilet disposal. Easy to get to not far of main road, but so peaceful. Absolutely loved it and will be back.

Liked Just back from a 6 night stay. Loved it! Peaceful location, good facilities, nice size pitches. Please be aware (as outlined by the site info etc - I did my hw so knew what to expect, certainly not disappointed), there is a cockerel, there is no wifi, and the showers are 50p for 5 minutes if you use their facilities. None of which bothered me in the slightest but it might some…Mark the warden was very friendly and helpful, and I didn’t officially meet Bev the owner (I don’t think anyway) but there were plenty of friendly faces and greetings. Dog friendly, lovely walk to the beach, about a mile. 100% recommend
