  • Secluded, peaceful site with stunning Peak District views
  • A 15-minute drive from Buxton and Bakewell
  • Direct access to High Peak and Tissington trails for walks/bike rides
Partial to a Peak District view? Perhaps unsurprisingly, Peak View Newhaven Lodge Farm could well be the place for you – this small, secluded Derbyshire touring site is surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the national park, with something pretty to look at whichever way you turn. The outlook may shout ‘middle of nowhere’, but the site’s actually very easily accessible – getting in and out is fairly straightforward, as there’s a well-maintained limestone track leading to the pitches from the A515. Pubs, cafĂ©s and shops (including a fine farm shop) are five minutes’ drive away in the villages of Hartington and Monyash, and it’s a 15-minute drive to the bigger towns of Bakewell and Buxton. Planning to leave the car in situ and head out on foot or bikes? A fine plan, for it’s just a short amble across the neighbouring field to pick up the High Peak and Tissington trails; hire bikes half a mile away if you’re not able to bring your own wheels along. Also nearby are Lathkill and Wolfscote Dales, along with Ecton Hill for folk seeking a bit more of a challenge. Reckon those views would be a fine backdrop for an alfresco dinner? Spot on – the site welcomes barbecues. There’s no electricity here, but mains water is supplied and there’s a chemical disposal facility.

Liked: Beautiful scenery. Very quiet and peaceful. Right on the Tissington trail so numerous walks on your door step. No WiFi but that's not a bad thing so still giving it 5 stars!

Liked: The Views are incredible. We we're the only people staying on the site so it was so quiet and peaceful. We really felt like we were wild camping. On the Tissington Trail with a lovely cafe, toilet facility and bike hire only 15 mins walk. There is a chemical waste station and fresh water tap.

Disliked: Nothing

Liked: OMG... The position of this site is amazing. I parked next to the gate that took me down to the Tissington trail, turned right and the coffee shop, cakes and bike hire was there. Turn left, under the bridge and an honesty box for eggs, cakes and jams... Divine! I walked up to Arbor Low and gained some neolithic energy, such a gorgeous historic site. I loved this for the chill factor, views I couldn't stop looking at! Graham the farm owner, lovely gentleman. I highly recommend this place for the peace and the solitude. 🙏

Liked: We loved this site, now one of our favorites, Beautiful views over the peak district, and 2 pubs within walking distance. Right on the Tissington trail so great for walks. The land is sloping, so leveling is required. Friendly owners.
