What customers say
A quiet, rural campsite with welcoming owners and large, level pitches. Great location, easy walk to the steam railway and brewery. Basic, clean facilities. Some guests mentioned early morning farm animal noise and portable toilet issues, though improvements are being made. Many want to return.

Beautiful quiet setting

Liked What a beautiful place. Camping amongst the animals was idyllic. Quiet, peaceful site. Well kept and the toilets, showers etc etc kept in great clean order. All Eco friendly products were laid on for all to use. I quite honestly didn't want to leave. We were even told the Deer come onto the site in some evenings. I would have loved to have seen that.
Great job Karen and Simon
We will be back
Disliked Nothing at all

Lovely rural site, but within easy reach of M5.

Liked Lovely quiet site with large pitches.. very relaxied. Friendly owners.
Easy walk to the stream railway and Quantock brewery taproom.
Nb we were only there for one night and left fairly early in the morning to get to our next campsite so didn't use the showers.
Thiere are geese and hens in orchard next to the site so if you have a bird phobia or aren't keen on being woken by the cockerels at 4.30am then this may not be the site for you, but we thought it was great.
Disliked Toilets were ok. The water taps in toilets were for hand washing only. To brush your teeth, wash face etc you need to go across the field to the shower block.

A lovely site and a friendly welcome

Liked Peaceful site set against woodland. The showers, in a static unit, are very good. The toilets are adequate, without needing to use the portaloos. If camping along the fence line, frequent visits from curious bantams are a delight.
The Quantick Brewery Tap is about 5 minutes walk, great beers and street food Friday and Saturday. The other two pubs are nothing special with poor quality cask beer.
Disliked Nothing.

Liked Closeness to steam railway

Disliked Units pitched too close together
Price is high. We paid less for a fully serviced pitch near Ilfracombe.

Lovely basic quiet site, friendly owners.

Liked Quiet field behind the farmhouse with clean toilets and showers. Close to Bishop's Lydeard village with brewery (which does pop up food most nights) pubs and good village shop (coop).
Within cycling distance of the Seven Sisters Quantok Hills and Hestercombe House and gardens.
Disliked Bantam cockerels at 5am but being good campers we had our earplugs and had read the reviews!!!

Please sort out the toilets, then this would be a wonderful site

Liked Great little site, so relaxing and laid back. Lovely touch having eco friendly products in the showers, they all smelt so nice.
Disliked The smell in the toilets was horrific. As you walked up to the portaloos, the smell started to hit you and by the time you got in there, it was unbearable and we were gagging.

From the manager: Hi I’m sorry that this affected your stay. Unfortunately your visit was just before they were serviced and the exceptional heatwave had affected the chemicals. I’m more than happy to Discount your next visit, so please contact me direct.
Loved our stay, would go back if they had a different toilet facility

Liked Surroundings were lovely, walking distance to pubs and train station. Nice and quiet and easy to find. Hostess was lovely
Disliked The toilets were not nice so much so when me and my husband used them we were literally heaving. They smelt disgusting.

From the manager: Sorry during your stay the exceptional heatwave had caused an issue. This problem is now resolved.
