What customers say

Friendly staff, great beachside location & facilities praised. Spacious pitches & entertainment appreciated. Concerns raised about toilet/shower cleanliness & sloping pitches, but good value overall.

Liked We have stayed at this site four times now. The first three were in a static caravan five years ago. This time we came onto the fully serviced pitch with our own caravan. The serviced pitch was lovely and clean and tidy. The kids enjoyed the swimming pool onsite. The entertainment we didn’t use. The little shop inside was nice and baked fresh bread every morning.

Disliked The laundry room was smelly and mouldy and I stood while inside as it didn't feel clean enough to sit down on the chairs that were provided. It was pretty run down. The tumble dryers originally wasn’t heating up and while there a maintenance man came and fixed the issue. So I did manage to get my clothes dry.
The bathrooms on the tourers pitch were really dirty and one of the worst we have had to use. The toilets were regularly blocked and urine was on the floor in multiple stalls and it was really smelly. The showers were the same, hair and dirt all over the sides, walls and floor. I made my kids shower in their flip flops. The state of the bathrooms were a conversation amongst the women in the bathroom daily and it was reported to reception regularly as well. There were cobwebs all over the showers and no attempt seemed to be made to clean them in the two weeks we were there. We did see cleaners go in daily but I think there is a bigger issue with the plumbing as the toilets that were blocked seem to cause the main issues with the over flowing **** onto the floor. The best time to use the showers was late evening as this seem to be when they were at their “cleanest”

Recommended for static caravan holidays, not so much for tourers.

Liked We stayed here in August 2025. Kids entertainment was great. Most staff were very helpful and polite. We also enjoyed the food in the restaurant. It had a good selection.

Disliked We were supposed to stay 5 days, but left 2 days early. We even paid extra to move the date of our ferry forward by 2 days. We stayed at the touring caravan site. The and the facilities were disgustingly dirty constantly. The person who was responsible for cleaning was always around, but never moved a finger to clean. It was far to walk to any of the amenities. The touring caravans are located right at the edge of the campsite. Most pitches were on a severe slope that not even our wedge helped to level out the caravan.

Liked Quiet but sour taste

Disliked Let down by booking promises. Told booking would result in a discount code for the very very expensive ferry. It did not happen and calls to holiday park and ferry co dd not resolve. Just not worth the cost when parks and areas of UK are better without the costs of IOW

Liked Path directly to beach. Clean toilets and showers with underfloor heating. Good choice in convenience store. On site chippy. Bar area clean and staff friendly. Good selection of outdoor activity areas for kids. Didn't visit arcade, swimming pool or entertainment area.

Disliked Location. 2 mile walk to nearest bus stop, although it was a pleasant walk.

Local attractions

Visitors will find lots of yachts and powerboats to drool over in Cowes harbour, and the town is also home to Osborne House, the country retreat of Queen Victoria and her brood. It’s well worth a nose around this magnificent house and its lovely gardens, and the Victorian afternoon teas aren’t half bad either… Since the Isle of Wight is such a bijou island, it doesn’t take long to reach other top attractions such as Carisbrooke Castle, the posh pile where King Charles I was imprisoned, and the island’s heritage steam railway, which regularly runs themed events. For those who fancy a change from the beach at Thorness Bay, the shallow waters at Colwell Bay beach, about 25 minutes away by car, are great for swimming, as well as watersports such as jetskiing and windsurfing.
