For somewhere a little more authentically old, bound over to Blists Hill Victorian Town (15 minutes), an open-air museum with staff recreating what life was like in the 19th century at shops, houses and schools from the period. Don’t miss the Iron Bridge that Ironbridge is named after either – it's a 100-foot cast-iron spectacle dating back to 1781. Wander in Weston Park (10 minutes) next – set in the memorably named village of Weston-under-Lizard – with its fancy 17th-century mansion and landscaping by famed gardener Capability Brown before embarking on a lengthier amble up to Wrekin Hill (25 minutes).
