What customers say
This campground has spacious, level sites with lake views and watersports. Reviewers loved the friendly staff and clean facilities, though some found them basic. New facilities are coming! The restaurant/cafe got good reviews. Watch for road noise and rule-breakers.

Great customer service over the phone…
Powered grass campsite
Liked Great customer service over the phone never actually saw anyone whilst there as it wasn’t busy , we were only ones there
Not a problem but found it weird that there were permanent residents living there (in campers with awnings etc) right next next to the showe block
Shower block was immaculate , but as I said said it wasn’t a busy time
Hopefully more bins will be provided at busier times
Just a little warning , as it’s flat ground it was very windy
As we came in April it was chilly at night so was disappointing that we couldn’t have a fire pit as not allowed

From the manager: Hi Mandy,
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review—we really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.
It’s fantastic to hear that our phone communication hit the mark, especially as your stay was a self check-in and check-out. We aim to make everything as smooth and stress-free as possible, so it’s great to know that worked well for you.
We do have some longer term caravans on-site. They’re a lovely group who help create a friendly, welcoming, and safe environment for everyone staying with us.
We’re especially pleased you found the shower block immaculate—our housekeeping team put a lot of effort into maintaining high standards, with thorough cleans morning and night, so your feedback will mean a lot to them.
Regarding bins, we currently have several located around the site, including near the toilet block, at the entrance, and in the car park. These are emptied regularly throughout the week and daily during busier periods, but we’ll certainly keep your comments in mind as we continue to improve.
As we are a lakeside campsite, it can get quite breezy at times, particularly on flatter ground. And we do understand the disappointment around fire pits, especially on chilly evenings; however, this policy is in place to ensure the safety of all our guests. BBQs are allowed though if they are raised off the ground.
Thank you again for your kind words and helpful feedback. We hope to welcome you back again soon!

From the manager: Hi there,
Thanks so much for your lovely 8/10 review, Maya — we’re really glad you enjoyed the lake views, wildlife, and our facilities (the team will be chuffed to hear your kind words!). It’s great to know you felt welcomed and well looked after during your stay. We’re lucky to have such a peaceful setting, though from time to time sound can drift over from the Great Denham side — especially the odd enthusiastic motorbike!
We’d love to welcome you back for another relaxing stay by the water soon.
Best wishes,
Box End Park
Staff are friendly, space is generous and the price is reasonable ish
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Showers were warm, decent amount of space. Water activities are mega good.
Disliked Had some Mexicans next to us that were noisy from 6:30 am till 11pm, the showers the first night were lukewarm. No wind breaks between the pitches so when winds bad you get hit with the full whack, need some shelves in the showers so you have space to put all your things in

From the manager: Hi there,
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback.
We’re really glad to hear you enjoyed the warm showers overall, the spacious pitches, and especially the water activities — it’s great to know those stood out during your stay as well as our friendly staff team.
We’re sorry that other guests impacted your experience. While we do have quiet hours in place between 22;30pm - 07:00am, we understand how frustrating noise throughout the day can be, and we’ll continue to monitor this more closely to ensure everyone can enjoy a peaceful stay.
Thank you also for your constructive suggestions regarding wind exposure and shower facilities. This is something we’ll look into as we review site improvements — feedback like this is genuinely helpful.
We appreciate you staying with us and hope we can provide you with an even better experience next time.

An excellent site for water sports, a little lacking round the edges.
Powered grass campsite
Liked Spacious pitches, great staff. Great views and atmosphere.
Excellent food onsite.
Disliked Poor grey water set up, very near the wash up area.
Often no hot water. As a customer, I don’t find the explanation that the boiler isn’t big enough to cope to be acceptable.
Toilet block could be better designed, e.g. no seating or places to put things.

From the manager: Hi John,
Thank you so much for your feedback following your stay with us over the Bank Holiday weekend.
We’re pleased to hear you enjoyed the spacious pitches, views, atmosphere, and the food onsite, and we also appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts on other aspects of your visit.
We unfortunately did experience an issue with our boiler at the start of the weekend after being made aware of this by fellow campers on Saturday morning, which was resolved by Sunday afternoon, with water temperatures returning to normal by Sunday evening/Monday morning. We appreciate you flagging this, and understand the timing was frustrating as it was resolved towards the end of your stay.
We’ll be following up on all of the points you’ve raised with our team to ensure these are reviewed.
Thank you again for your feedback — it’s very helpful as we continue to improve the experience we offer.
Best wishes,
