  • Rural Bedfordshire campsite with 100 acres of parkland
  • Golf and horse riding 20 minutes’ drive; Santa Pod Raceway 35 minutes
  • Lakeside café, bar and restaurant; free hot showers in the clubhouse
Set in 100 acres of landscaped parkland, the tourer and tent pitches at Box End Park campsite await sporty families for a few days of fun on two purpose-built water-sports lakes, filled with natural spring water. No worries though if you’d simply prefer to relax lakeside and enjoy the peaceful rural Bedfordshire setting. Activities to be booked separately and enjoyed on site include a giant floating aqua park, open-water swimming, paddleboarding, cable kneeboarding and cable wakeboarding. Out of the water, you can try frisbee and football golf, or the lakeside running-and-nature trail. All the pitches are on flat, well-drained grassland, and the site has its own dedicated toilet block with washing-up sinks. Free hot showers are located in the main clubhouse and are shared with the water-sports facilities. When you need to refuel, there’s a bar, restaurant and café offering a range of catering throughout the week (the café is closed in winter and the restaurant on Mondays). Barbecues are permitted off the ground at the pitches, but no campfires please. This is a quiet family site with a strict no-noise policy after 10.30pm, so perhaps it’s not the place for you if you’re after a wild nightlife – having said that, the historic market town of Bedford is only 15 minutes’ drive away, with its healthy helping of pubs and restaurants.

From the manager: Hi Kelly,

Thank you so much for your lovely 9/10 review and we loved seeing you here for your recent visit! Thank you so much for your feedback and we really appreciate your time taken to leave a review of our site :)

Kindly note that all of watersports sessions, including SUP Self-Launch, are lifeguarded sessions and must be pre-booked online using our booking system. No swimming or water access is allowed outside of these time and this does include customers staying on the campsite. We do have a small natural wooden playpark area located just behind our Corner5 bar decking area. Please feel free to ask our reception team on your next visit who would be happy to show you where this is located. We also have a great land based activity suitable for 3yrs + if you'd like to give our Disc & Adventure Football Golf a go on your next campsite stay with us.

Thank you so much for posting your electric card back to us too after this was accidentally taken home - received today and we have processed your £5 deposit refund for you having received this back.

Look forward to welcoming you again soon and have a lovely summer!

Best Wishes,
Box End Park

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: The site was great, big open space for the tents and lots of space for the kids to run around. The toilet and shower facilities look very new and were always clean. The activities at Box End, such as the Aquapark and Wakeboarding were brilliant to watch whilst relaxing outside the tent and provided extra entertainment for the kids, even if they were too young to take part.
The small cafe option, operating out of a shipping container by the lake is perfect for lunch, ice creams and drinks, nothing fancy but very decent.
They have begun creating a lovely walking path around the lake of 5km which is really nice for an evening stroll through the grass meadows, watching the wildlife and views.

Disliked: It's always a little sad not to be able to have a campfire whilst camping.
The tent pitches are very exposed to the wind coming off the lake. The electric pitches have some protection from hedges and trees separating each pitch site. So make sure your ropes are secure!
If you want to eat in the larger restaurant, I would suggest that you book in advance!

From the manager: Hi there,

Thank you so much for your lovely review and we're so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay with us!

We completely appreciate a campfire does add to the experience however, unfortunately open fires and fire-pits are not allowed on-site to ensure everyone's safety whilst camping with us on our flat and grassy pitches, especially during those windy and dry weather days. BBQs are allowed on campsite pitches as long as they are raised nice and high off the ground and they're stable. Our restaurant is super popular all year round so we'd completely agree about pre-booking a table if you'd like to dine in the Corner5 Restaurant for our lunch or dinner service during your stay. Thank you so much for your feedback and we really appreciate your time taken to leave a review of our site :)

We look forward to welcoming you again soon!

Power optional grass campsite

Liked: Lovely view of the lake and very peaceful, easy check in and good facilities. Level pitch.

Disliked: There appeared to be people permanently living on site in touring caravans that looked like they had been there for 10years! This scared me a little has I have had trouble with travelling community’s before and the facilities were situated in the centre of these caravans. But I didn’t see anyone or have any trouble.

From the manager: Hi there,

Thank you for your feedback on your recent visit. We have some longer term caravans on site. Our longer term guests are a great bunch and help us keep the site a friendly and safe place for all to visit. We do hope to see you again and are so happy to hear that you loved our lakeside camping pitches & facilities.

Liked: Good size pitch, flat and great views of the lake. Excellent toilet block, clean, heated, plenty of showers and toilets for the demand and washing up area.
£5 electric lasted us for 4 days with plenty left over. WiFi worked well including streaming.
Great water sports facilities and if that’s not your thing, lovely walk round the lake - we did this every day.
Bar / restaurant on site with good menu. Local shops / pubs all close by, approx 5 minute drive.
All staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

From the manager: Hi Elizabeth,

Thank you so much for your lovely 8/10 review. Kindly note that our reception team had organised a self check-in with you ahead of your arrival and loaded your electric into your electric post for you to make this easy on the day for you. They also emailed over your welcome pack complete with map and pitch number to aid with your self check-in arrival on the Thursday. This pack does include an out of hours number to call that is linked to our on-site campsite warden should you need any assistance on days where our Activities Reception is closed and there are staff on-site on Thursdays in our Bar & Restaurant should you need any help. The reception was open all day Friday and the team also helped with your Saturday check-out and helped to process your electric card return for you. We appreciate all your feedback and have made sure to add a wifi code any self check-in emails going forwards. Really happy to hear you enjoyed our brand new shower block and large grassy pitches and look forward to welcoming you back soon. We really appreciate all your feedback and will make sure to implement this going forwards.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: Clean site, enough for what we needed, if the children where older then would of made use of the water activities but had a nice relaxing time either way, staff friendly in reception when checking in and out

Disliked: Although the shower and toilets where cleaned to a high standard there was times when the cleaners wouldnt let you in to use these as they where cleaning yet they wouldnt open the family shower to use
