What customers say

A tidy, tranquil spot with generous spots and lovely scenery, including lakes and rural vistas. Immaculately clean, especially the loos and showers. Super dog-friendly with big, secure play areas and a doggy pond. BBQs and on-site fridges/freezers available. Most raved, though a few noted chilly showers and needing the car for shops.

Unpowered grass and gravel caravan site

Liked Staff were lovely, campsite was clean, units were spacious, facilities were spotless and lovely location.

Disliked There isn’t a tidy oath to walk into Lyndley (not the campsites fault), it’s a busy road.

Liked Everything - lovely quiet and accommodating park. All about the dogs. The dog pond was a bit deep for little legs but in the unusual heat the dog shower was much appreciated. Two dog exercise areas and had we had longer we would have explored the area more

Disliked My only dislike was the toilet block was boiling hot. Normal weather I’m sure I wouldn’t care but could have done with a bit more ventilation and maybe somewhere to put things in the shower

Powered grass and gravel caravan site

Liked Excellent site, clean toilets and showers. Good dog walking areas one with a pond for your dog to paddle or swim. Decent size pitches. Lydney 5mins in car

Disliked Only downside is there are no public footpaths from the site to the the Forest of Dean. 5 min car ride up the road or walk alongside busy main road for about 40mins

Liked A lovely campsite, which was very clean and tidy. Good facilities with clean toilets, sinks and clothes washing.

Site specialises in dogs, with a dog pond, and fenced free run pens.

Well managed site, which was quiet at night. Thanks Michelle for looking after us.

Please be aware there are a number of farms using the same postcode. Do not turn off the A48 as the site entrance is on the main road. Keep going until you see a large white house between Lydney and Blakeney Village, called 'The Willows', with white painted stones around the driveway and garden. The site is directly opposite that house. The farm entrance has large flag poles on either side. What3words (for the farm entrance): dandelions.dragonfly.necklace.

Local attractions

Forest Oak Farm is in a splendid spot for easy access to the Forest of Dean, the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the wider Gloucestershire, south Wales and south-west England areas. Adventurers can test their mettle on the high ropes course at Go Ape, five miles from base, and over at Puzzlewood, eight miles away, there's a walking trail that meanders through an ancient 14-acre forest filled with towering trees and rugged rock formations. At Clearwell Caves, right next door to Puzzlewood, explore its sprawling natural cave system and learn all about the forest's 4,500-year iron ore and ochre mining history. The Forest Of Dean, around half an hour's walk from the park, is full to the brim with woodland walks, cycle tracks, lakes and secluded valleys. Be sure to bring your binoculars, because the forest is home to wild boar and deer that can (and should) be admired from afar. The smashing Symonds Yat Rock is a mere 25-minute drive away from Forest Oak Farm and provides visitors with plenty of fun outdoorsy and sightseeing opps; take one of the many waymarked trails that link it with the River Wye and a number of circular walks into the surrounding forest, visit the ancient Iron Age hill fort and – if you're there between April and August – point your trusty binoculars towards the nearby cliffs to spot the peregrine falcons that nest and hunt around them. Canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding and mountaineering are available around the village of Symonds Yat too.
