Everyone off to Porto: Portugal's second biggest city is a place of world-famed wines, gorgeous port (of course), the bars and restaurants of the Ribeira area, and old, old sites like the Palácio da Bolsa. To stay within simple reach of Porto while still avoiding big-city prices, have a break at Parque Orbitur Angeiras, 16 kilometres north of town. It's a peaceful and green Porto spot, surrounded by trees and bushes and opposite the beach in the fishing village of Angeiras. A bus stop is close to the site. Spectacular Portuguese sands, the dunes of Mindelo and the vineyards of the Douro Valley are all easy to get to from here; on site, there's a pool and a paddling pool, a tennis court, a multisports pitch, a playground and a TV room. A mini market is also to hand, but you'll probably prefer to have bites to eat at the restaurant, popular with Angeiras locals. Amenities include washrooms with showers, toilets and disabled facilities.

Μου άρεσε Very large campsite 5 minutes from the beach. Good availability for Motorhomes, very nice swimming pool(closes at 7pm)with bar and restaurant and small shop(closes at 8pm).Excellent Local supermarket only 5 minutes walk. Reception closes 8pm. Uber to Porto €15 late return €18 Local Continente supermarket 10 minutes drive, local Lidl close by. Great site stayed longer than expected. Wi-Fi only effective in reception(convenient bench outside)and restaurant

Δεν μου άρεσε Couldn’t find service points, water fountains scattered around but they don’t facilitate hose connections. Washrooms rustic but functional. Was amused by toilets with a single paper dispenser for each block so you have to assess your needs in advance otherwise suffer the embarrassment if caught short!

Μου άρεσε Nice shaded pitch spots. Very clean and sufficient ablution facilities. Walking distance from a stunning beach and many restaurants. Nice shop on site to buy snacks and necessities. Really a perfect spot - very convenient and serene.

Μου άρεσε Beach and restaurants nearby and super swimming pool and easy to get to Porto via bus and tram.

Δεν μου άρεσε Had a few drinks and ordered a takeaway pizza in site bar/restaurant. Poor service from unfriendly staff who charged €13 for 2 beers. No atmosphere at bar so used bars elsewhere where we were made to feel welcome. Pitches were uneven and difficult to establish where their boundaries were.

In Portugal, it is common to have a large camping area where the pitches are not delimited, so that our clients can choose their space freely and feel comfortable, occupying the space they need. We would also like to inform that we do offer limited pitches in the majority of the campsite. We are happy to know that you enjoyed your stay with us. Several beaches are close by, including Angeiras beach opposite the site, Labruge beach two kilometres north and São Paio beach within three and a half kilometres in the same direction. The dunes of Mindelo are also worth their eight-kilometre trip for a flit around their ornithological reserve. Take the bus from outside the site to reach Porto in about an hour, to mooch around its many attractions including the Palácio da Bolsa, the Fundação de Serralves and the historic Ribeira area, with its many bars dishing up local cuisine. The city's most famed of course for its port wine (the clue is in the name), so wander around the plentiful port cellars too, to see how it's all made and to sample the many different and mighty tasty varieties. If you now have a thirst for learning more about Portugal's wine, take a day trip to the Douro Valley to visit the vineyards there surrounded by their spectacular scenery. Other destinations for day trips include the lively city of Braga and its 12th-century cathedral, and Guimarães, to take a cable car ride over the historic streets. Both cities are around 50 kilometres away.
