Claylands Caravan Park

Μου άρεσε Debbie is a true saint and a wonderful person we got stuck in a car accident and it took us 12 hours to get here but Debbie was fantastic and met us when we arrived explained everything is detail even through it was nearly 9 at night in the pouring rain she still came
Now the site it’s beautiful lots off lovely flowers everywhere grass and communal areas will looked after
Toilets always clean and fresh lovely showers
All staff on the site were lovely and welcoming
Pitch was of a large size and we enjoyed our morning visitors the duck family
All facilities were clean and tidy
Fishing lakes are lovely and well stocked
We had a fantastic visit thank you all so much

Δεν μου άρεσε This isn’t a dislike but just a suggestion that maybe over time add an additional toilet block closer to the camping area as in the night in the rain it can be horrible lol but that is part of the camping experience

Μου άρεσε The campsite was in a good area, very pretty. Lots of cows, sheep and ducks around. It was close enough to travel to Blackpool for days out. Staff were very friendly and lent me a splitter for my electric hookup. Had brunch at stepping stones restaurant, on site. Really great food, wish I was staying over the weekend to enjoy the entertainment.

Δεν μου άρεσε A bit noisey at night. Not from other campers. The freight trains are constant through the night. But I did always manage to fall asleep. I sometimes used my car to go to the shower/ toilet block.

Μου άρεσε Nice site and good clean amenities. Loved seeing the ducks cows and sheep. Nice to have the park close to the camping field too.

Δεν μου άρεσε Toilet and shower block too far from the camping field which was directly under an electricity pylon. No shop on site to get groceries. Restaurant opened much too late for breakfast (10am).

Από τον διαχειριστή: Thank you for leaving your review. We are a small family run park that is known for its lovely views and quiet location. There is a small shop in the reception area that sells the basics, milk, drinks, tea, coffee, sugar, cereals, toiletries and ice creams/sweets etc but admittedly we are not a Spar (or equivalent), those can be found approximately a mile away or the town of Garstang 3 miles away. We do have a bar and restaurant onsite that opens at 9.30 am (closed Mondays) that offers breakfast, brunch, lunch and evening meals.
The pylon has been here long before us and is away from the tenting field but it can buzz in wet weather. The toilet and shower block takes about 2 minutes to walk to from the tenting field, sometimes quicker if you are a fast walker. The park is in an ideal position to access the delights of Blackpool (15 miles), Lancaster (10 miles), Windermere (31 miles), whatever takes your fancy.

Μου άρεσε We booked 4 nights to get used to our 1st motorhome, and chose Claylands as it was only a hour away from our home,and reviews were very good.
We were not disappointed. Pitch was spacious and clean. Close to toilets/showers/ bin area. Great background playing in toilets/ shower block. Stepping Stones restaurant was amazing plus nice garden area where you can relax with a drink or food. Great to watch children ( & adults) splashing in the stream. Staff extremely attentive & very friendly. Lovely walk down steps at back of restaurant, over the wooden bridge, across the field, under the railway bridge to Scorton village and then about a mile walk along Millenium Way into Garstang.

Μου άρεσε Great site, we have been 3 times now over the years. The park is great and the kid love it. It feels safe as there is a real up to the site and electric Barrier.
The toilets and showers are spotless and have music playing , they are a bit of a walk from the tent but no big deal if you have small children taking a camping toilet is a good idea for in the night.
The river is one of the things the kids love to play In and at the top of the hill sits the pub . Good hill for the kids to roll down or to kick a ball up and practice. The food in the pub is nice and lovey that ice cream is for sale . The shop is fine and what you would expect on a site. Laundry and washing up facilities nice and clean.
The grounds are well maintained grass and flower beds this is a site we will probably always come back to again and again. Loads of leaflets of things to do around the site. The staff are really few and helpful

Train goes past in the night and if in a tent and a light sleeper will keep you a wake, don't forget ear plugs

Μου άρεσε Lived the site, we stayed whilst we had hot weather 27deg. Location was great and you could walk to the local garage for supplies. Only tried the restaurant on the last night for ice cream but it has stunning views outside back for a nice meal.
Toilets are super clean. Probably the cleanest I have seen on a sight. They are located at the entrance which is far from the camping area when you have young kids. Can’t send kids alone or leave without taking them which was a little issue for me personally as I am a single parent camping.
Reception staff was supper friendly.
Loads to do near by.
Washing facilities for clothing was very cheap to use. £2-£3 to wash a load which is very cheap.
Books/games left within washing facilities to take if required. I took a book to read.
I would definitely go back

Δεν μου άρεσε The noise from road and trains over night are very loud if your a light sleeper. I did use earplugs but my child can not so took him a while to eventually sleep.

Power lines also gave you electric shocks from the grass if barefoot or waring sandals as tent was pitched underneath and also makes noise. I understand a tent does not have walls so you hear this all the time. I would just advise some ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.
