Positiv Clean and tidy small and compact. Toilet block lovely and clean showers really nice and no push buttons. Good dog walking area. Good location to Buxton/ Bakewell/Castleton and Eyam. Road could be noisey but after a few beers, slept like a log. Peaceful and relaxing! WiFi was good because as soon as you left the campsite no signal!!

Negativ No grass pitch and open site (no barrier). But we used our alco lock and a wheel clamp. So not an issue. Never done a handstanding pitch before, so missed the grass for the dogs, so not a dislike just not for us.

Positiv Convenient access to get to Skegness. Spacious pitch. Friendly reception. Nice restaurant and bar area (but have to sit outside with dogs).

Negativ The toilet block (only one for the whole site) seemed tired and was constantly messy/ dirty lacking toilet roll. The bins were over flowing. There was goose mess was everywhere (can’t be helped) No barrier to get on or off site so anyone could come and go as they pleased. Noise from the neighbouring camp site ran late in to sat evening. Not having a dog walking field or somewhere to exercise off lead and we only found one dog poo bin down by reception. Electric is £20 deposit not an issue as you get this back, we’ve used pre paid cards before but others sites give you your rebate on electricity not used, this site didn’t so assume they pocket the difference. Clearly set up for fishing, statics and seasonal pitches.

Vom Platzbetreiber: Thanks for taking the time to submit a review of our site and mentioning how friendly the staff were etc. However I feel I feel that it is only right to address the negative side of your review if I may. The restaurant does in fact allow dogs, there are designated tables just inside the restaurant and of course they are allowed outside on the veranda. Our staff work very hard to keep our amenity block clean and tidy and are cleaned twice daily, unfortunately we occasionally find that some of our guests do take toilet rolls with them when they leave and do not always leave the amenities as they find them. The noise from the neighbouring camp has been addressed and it was unfortunate that this happened on the weekend you were here am afraid. We are a wild life friendly site so the goose mess will happen! We also do not advertise having a dog walk where dogs can be exercised off the lead so am unsure why your expectations were that there would be one? There are dog poo bins at reception and two more on the touring site, maybe you missed them. The barrier was unfortunately down for repair which is currently being addressed We do inform guests on arrival that money for electric not used will not be refunded and to monitor the usage as you go I can assure you that this rule is not in place for the site to ' pocket the money' We are a fishing site and we do have privately owned statics and seasonal pitches, however we are not set up exclusively for those, in fact we have tourers and tent owners who return regularly and are highly satisfied with the services we provide in fact we recently received an award for the highest reviews from Pitch Up themselves. Maybe our site is not designed for your needs, we wish you well in finding one that does. Thanks again for your review.

Negativ The no WiFi! Double edged sword, not having WiFi isn’t an issue for us, however it had WiFi but severely temperamental everywhere! Clubhouse could do with updating as very 80’s vibe. Go with vintage but mordenise. Activities in the clubhouse were really good! However information surrounding this was lacking prime example turned up to music quiz with our dogs to find out it was in the non dog friendly bar, we were accommodated outside but didn’t feel included and yes we could have left the dogs in the caravan however they are part of our family. Moving forward incorporating both bars would be benificial to dog lovers like us.

Positiv Spacious pitch. Fully serviced and quite ticked all the boxes. Showers and toilet block clean and tidy. Bar did lovely food and an array of drinks. The staff were really attentive and the dogs were spoilt rotten!

Positiv The spacious sized pitches. Clean shower and toilet blocks. Quite at night and good distance from the Beach (10 min drive). Great reception on arrival nothing too much for the owners and very helpful.

Negativ No dog walking field and unfortunately a long walk to the toilet block but that being said they weren’t busy in anyway.

Positiv Beautifully kept site! Absolutely massive pitch (ehu) enough for our massive tent and car still with plenty of space! Stunning views over the valley. Nice and quiet and peaceful and quaint and well kept campsite. Loved the look of the teepee huts (had a nose when they were empty). Would recommend this site as a peaceful retreat.

Negativ Not so much of a dislike but could do with a few more shower cubicles and wash basens (bit of a queue in the mornings). and found no hot water using the basins washing hands each time. And also the lack of dog space as our dog loves a run and there was no enclosed space for him to run (but this was an us issue not a site issue as we have a spaniel and he loves to run).

Vom Platzbetreiber: Your review has left us feeling very disappointed, you said that you would not return. Clearly we are not the campsite for you! You marked us down on a number of things Accommodation- it was your own accommodation and not one of our rental tents! Child friendliness - You had no children! Cleanliness- you say it is well kept, but then score us low on cleanliness Facilities - we assume that you scored us low, as we do not have a designated dog area for dogs to run free. However you do mention that the pitches are massive, maybe you would rather everyone had a small pitch so that your dog could run around. Next time you look for a campsite on Pitchup, you need to add dog area into your requirements. You would then not have been disappointed, as we do not say that we have any such area. Sorry to hear that you had to wait for a shower, it was a busy bank holiday weekend and the campsite was full. However another customer left a review from the very same weekend stating, ''there was never a queue for the showers'', you must have just been unlucky!!

Positiv Clean, tidy and spacious pitches and showers. Nice bar and friendly. The arrival pack contained lots of information.

Negativ The bangs going in surrounding fields (gas canisters for scaring birds) going off randomly from first light till last light and unfortunately I have 1 very nervous dog scared of bangs. The busy road was slightly difficult to get out of when leaving camp. And the showers push buttons didn’t stay on for more than 5 seconds. The WiFi didn’t reach our pitch unfortunately.

Positiv Pitch was huge, campsite clean and tidy. Massive walking area across the road in silverhill woods for the dogs. Shower area clean and a right touch that you had space to keep clothes dry etc in there. Good spot for commuting to the Peak District

Negativ Being so close to the play park, kids were noisey till about 9 and could have done with the showers working as they weren’t in two of the rooms. Would stay again but request to be away from play park.
