Positiv Firstly, Val was wonderful. We had some coms issues around directions but she persevered to help get us there! The site is a lovely, back to basics site. Not many toilets and showers for the size but for us it wasn't a problem as we are self sufficient when it comes to that. It was very quiet the weekend we were there so can imagine it being a bit of a wait for showers and toilet when it is busy. They have chemical disposal and drinking water. The field is nice and flat. It's a lovely quiet space with pubs and shop within walking distance. If you want a site that has all the amenities, club house etc then this not the place for you. However, if you want back to basics, relaxed vibe in lovely surroundings with nice walks then this is for you. We will definitely be back.

Positiv Small site, nice and relaxed. Pub a 5 minute walk, nice canal walks directly from the site. Annie, the site manager greeted us on arrival and she was very helpful and welcoming.

Negativ There's no toilets or showers but we knew that before booking. There is a lot of building works going on for holiday homes but, that didn't bother us at all as we were on the camping site. It will be lovely once completed.

Positiv This is a cracking little site. I read some of the reviews and they were mixed but I am glad we went. This is a no frills campsite with basic but immaculately clean toilets and showers, the price is very fair for what you get. The owner is lovely and the site is kept tidy. Not far from the M62 and an hour away from Brid. We dropped lucky with the weather which was gorgeous. We will definitely be back.

Positiv Lovely little site, surrounded by woodland, It must be beautiful in the summer. The owners were lovely and super helpful, they kept in contact with us and they kept us stocked up on logs which was great. Especially when they showed us the round house with a tarp roof and fire pit, loved it. The road leading in is super bumpy and narrow but, expected for the location. Fire pits placed on the good sized pitches, bags of logs are £10 but, you get plenty in them. We were the only people on site which isn't uncommon for the time of year and we got to enjoy the place to ourselves. Decent walks not too far of a drive away. A bit weird that 4/5 cars kept pulling in, leaving and returning at different times of the day and weren't staying. Maybe people are allowed to park for walks etc, not sure. The 2 toilets and shower were absolutely immaculate. There's a place with a kettle, toaster, fridge and microwave to use. I bet it's a beautiful place in the spring and summer months and I can imagine it being a very popular place to camp. Our advice, bring decent torches, it's super dark which means beautiful night skies. Overall, a cracking little site that we will definitely be back to.

Negativ Random cars pulling in, leaving, coming back etc. Ground was a bit difficult to walk on without boots but, could absolutely see that the owners were doing work on the site. We came off season so no surprise that work is being done on the site. And also, maybe I need to give up the crocs 🙃.

Vom Platzbetreiber: Hi Christine, thankyou for your review and really glad that you enjoyed your time with us 🥰 Yes, out of season is our maintenance time, so we are currently resurfacing the site and putting new drainage in to keep things as dry as possible for our customers during our lovely English summers 😅 The cars that were on site were some other customers (veterans) that have got a group of cadets that are coming to do D of E and they have to plan out the route across the moorlands for the cadets to make sure the route is safe and passable for them ☺️ Hope you had a safe journey back and hopefully see you again soon 😊 Jessy

Positiv What a cracking little pop up site. It's a back to basics site done incredibly well. Very peaceful, clean facilities. The late check out was a game changer, we slept like logs knowing there was no rushing around to be done in the morning. It's probably the best night sleep I've ever had camping. Very relaxed vibe with some lovely little touches. Really hope they either pop up again next year or they open as a permanent site, we will definitely be back.

Positiv Back to basics campsite with stunning views and close to Alnwick, alnmouth. The owner was super responsive and super approachable. There's some bad reviews about the toilets but our experience was they were immaculate and the owner was there 3 times a day cleaning them. Chemical disposal point on site, 3 porta loos and it looked like there was a drinking water tap on each motorhome pitch. Our in laws popped by to see us and my mother in law said they were the cleanest porta loos she had seen. We will definitely be back. Thanks for a great stay.

Negativ Not a dislike as much but would be a 5 star if there had been a washing up station, nothing fancy, just somewhere to stand and wash dishes.

Positiv Beautiful site. Small, family friendly, facilities were small but super clean. Owners were lovely. We got an amzing dark night sky on the first night. Everyone was respectful and the site was immaculate. Absolutely value for money. If you're looking for a party site, this is not the place and we loved it for that. Everyone was quiet by 10pm. Would definitely go back.

Negativ Only 2 toilets but, again, everyone was respectful and the owners kept it super clean.

Positiv Loved how small and cosy the site was. Great walks from the site and the host was absolutely amazing, super friendly and welcoming. We loved the firepits, they are very deep and held the heat beautifully, so much so, we were sat outside chatting past midnight, in the middle of November. Pubs and shops are a 5 minute drive away. Great little site, will definitely be back.
