Waterlooville, Hampshire, England
Grasbewachsener Zelt- oder Zeltanhänger-Stellplatz ohne Stromanschluss
Positiv Quiet location on a farm, lovely scenery, fantastic facilities - large barn with tables and chairs, wash-up area, open barn with cooking facilities and a fridge, toilets and shower (these were very spacious with a bench for putting your things on). My car wouldn't start when I was due to leave (probably due to the heat) and Rosie who was cleaning the chalets helped me jump start it - she saved my day and I'm very grateful to her.
Negativ The camping field was quite small but I was alone so didn't need space for games like I do when I'm with the children. It was the most I've ever paid for a campsite (but also the best I've stayed at).

Grasbewachsener Zelt-Stellplatz ohne Stromanschluss
Positiv Great views, nice mown field with saplings, good size plots, car park next to camping field, clean toilets and washing up area, free WiFi in barn.
Negativ The top part of the field is sloped so we slipped down inside our tent but it wasn’t a big deal for a night and we got the best view from that side of the field!

Norwich, Norfolk, England
Grasbewachsener Stellplatz ohne Stromanschluss
Positiv Second field was large and quiet so it was great for a more private camping experience and there was loads of space for the children to play.
Good location by the river and broads walks
Negativ The WC /shower block didn't feel as clean as I would have liked.
Thought there was free WiFi but there wasn't.

Grasbewachsener Zelt- oder Zeltanhänger-Stellplatz ohne Stromanschluss
Positiv Quiet, remote location, good facilities (microwaves, kettles, toasters in kitchen area), horses and chickens, large field, just a few other families
Negativ No toilet paper provided (I knew in advance but it's more convenient to have it provided), shower not included in price

Vom Platzbetreiber: Thank you for your kind feedback. I did try providing toilet rolls but as fast as I put them in they were taken. The general concensus amongst campers I have asked is that most would expect to bring their own toilet paper. I don't make any money my charging £1 for a ten minute shower if I didn't, campers would stay in shower too long and cause a queue.
Newborough, Anglesey, Wales
Grasbewachsener Campervan-, Zelt- oder Zeltanhänger-Stellplatz ohne Stromanschluss
Positiv Good facilities - children's play area, washing up area, fridge, kettle, phone / camera charging, recycling bins, (freezer and microwave, but we didn't use these), showers, free wifi
Large pitch and only 16 pitches on site so didn't feel crowded
Great view of mountains
Remote location, nice 45 min walk to beach through the nature reserve
On a main road so there is good access to the road network on Anglesey / North Wales.... but it wasn't noisy
Friendly owners
Children made lots of friends in the evenings and didn't want to come home!
Negativ Toilets didn't have enough ventilation
Not a complaint and not something that would stop me visiting again if I was in Anglesey, but the very strong winds kept me awake for a whole night! We might have been there on an exceptional week but I recommend taking long pegs and weights to keep tents down on the sandy soil.

Grasbewachsener Wohnmobil-, Zelt- oder Zeltanhänger-Stellplatz Onny Meadows ohne Stromanschluss
Positiv Large field and hardly any other campers, lots of space for the children to play, nice walk around the nature reserve, close to shops, easy access to lots of English Heritage sites in Shropshire and Worcestershire (via A49) and only 5 minutes walk from Stokesay Castle
Negativ Toilets were positioned close to the road and they were used by non-campers (but they were clean so it wasn't a problem)

Heddon-on-the-Wall, Northumberland, England
Grasbewachsener Zelt-Stellplatz ohne Stromanschluss
Positiv Easy to find and a great location as a base for exploring English Heritage sites - there are lots within a 10 mile radius, and it's only 30-40 minutes' drive to Tynemouth too. Peaceful site, felt safe, plenty of space for the children to run around. Left to ourselves (we didn't see the owners at all) and there weren't many other campers so if you want to retreat and have some privacy, it's good.
Negativ The toilets were clean but there was often no soap, or only in one of the four units. Having said that, we used gel when we got back to the tent to minimise Covid risk even if we'd been able to wash our hands. The grass was quite long so the children's trainers got soaked through on the way to the toilet a few times when they forgot to put on something waterproof. An onsite bin would be helpful but we knew there wasn't one beforehand so we were prepared.
