Swerving the lively coastal regions of Portugal in search of something a little more offbeat? Offering dedicated support specifically for anyone travelling overland, N2 Overlander Lodge is a small hideaway in the rural village of Andreus in Sardoal, Central Portugal. With views over the region’s valleys and forested hills, the site combines accommodation, traditional cuisine prepared over an open fire, and a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels part of a small travelling community. This is a great place to take a break on your journey along the Estrada Nacional 2 – Portugal’s answer to Route 66 – giving you the chance to slow down, reset and explore the inland regions at your leisure. Learn how to cook over an open fire using traditional cast-iron utensils, relax on the small farm with green spaces and lots of animals to encounter, or chill with fellow travellers in the social space. Simple facilities at this solar-powered, dog-friendly site include a shower room (hot water guaranteed), communal outdoor kitchen with a barbecue and a small plunge pool. There’s also a terraced fruit and veg garden, a myriad of hikes direct from the pitches and electric bikes for hire if you’re up for exploring the surrounding hills.

Ferienhaus Loly 1 Schlafzimmer

Positiv Het was een schone accomodatie. Vriendelijke verhuurders.

Negativ De bungalow die wij huurden was slechts een kamertje met een bed en naast het bed een chemisch toiletpotje en daarboven een heeeel klein wastafeltje waar je nauwelijks je tanden kon poetsen.
Dit mag geen lodge of bungalow genoemd worden. Weinig privacy.
Echt veel te duur voor wat je krijgt!

We are sorry that the guest did not enjoy their overnight as much as we expected.
We allways appreciate comments and reviews, thus, is one of the ways we have to improve, and give the best service and conditions we can.However in our opinion this comment/review is not very realistic, and here is why ;-)

As written on the add, this accomodation is indentified as Loly's Room wich is part of the all "complex" named as N2-Overlander Lodge.. So the room is not a Bangalo or a Lodge by it self.
As mentioned on the guest's review, that the room, does not correspond to the info, and photos, we analised this topic, and could not add any further info or photos, because the stated info, is exactly what you will find.

Size of the room in sqm on the add, and very clear pictures of the nice and clean, basic bathroom facilities, including the practical Chemical toilet. Since it is a small room, the bathroom is proportional to the size.However as mentioned upon of the arrival a traditional Toilet was out 5 meters away ;-)
Concernning the feeling of lack of privacy, we can comment thus, we dont know what privacy means to the guest. The room has a lockable door and windows that are blinded we nice curtains.

At least we felt that the guest really enjoyed cooking on our outdoor full equiped kitchen including, table ware cooking equipment and a few cooking ingredients.

We also hope that the guests had a relaxing end of the day by our small rustic pool..pity they did not have enough time to bath in it.

About the value for money.. again, it is a personal respectable opinion...Off course there are other cheaper and more expensive options.

We wish our guests a Great Staying in Portugal, with only, fantastic memorable, souvenirs ;-)

Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Nähe

As well as welcoming long-distance travellers, N2 Overlander Lodge is open to hikers on the numerous walking trails that surround the site – notably the GR44 (Grande Rota da Prata e do Ouro) and its rugged, untamed landscapes. Shorter circular routes can also be attempted as a day walk, including the Rota do Javali (PR1), leading through fig and cork trees to a spectacular waterfall. The site also sits on the Estrada Nacional 2 between Chaves in northern Portugal and Faro in The Algarve; it’s a popular spot for a night or two’s break from driving. Hang out on site or explore the Sardoal region; there’s a picnic spot with wonderful views at Moinhos de Entrevinhas (10 minutes’ drive), a cluster of restored 19th-century windmills painted in traditional yellow and white. Beaches along the local rivers abound too. You can go wild swimming under the waterfalls at Praia Fluvial da Lapa (10 minutes), or off the sandy beach at Praia Fluvial do Penedo Furado (20 minutes) on the Ribeira de Codes. Another spot for scenic lake views and cooling dips in the water is around the Castelo de Bode Dam (20 minutes) on the River Zêzere.
