Finca de Fin del Sol

At Finca de Fin del Sol, you will likely have already seen a few (or indeed, a couple of handfuls) of waterfalls. However, there are plenty more falls – and all with their own flair, of course – around Costa Rica. El Tigre Waterfalls Monteverde (50 minutes’ drive) has won over quite a few fans, and it also has a zipwire bicycle for those who want to push the boat out. The largest lake in Costa Rica, Lake Arenal (from half an hour’s drive), is surrounded by gorgeous hikes and typical Costa Rican wildlife. Here, you might feel inclined to take charge of a kayak or paddleboard and glide out over the lake. If ‘wildlife’ and ‘hiking’ are buzzwords in your life, you may want to test the trail at Entrada Cerro Pelado (45 minutes) or head towards the Monteverde area for zoos and wildlife tours. The Bat Jungle (55 minutes) is a bat zoo with live feedings, and if you want to see wildlife at night, Wildlife Refuge Monteverde (50 minutes) runs night-time tours. Finally, if you are partial to some adrenaline-inducing activities, Selvatura Adventure Park (an hour and five minutes) has zipwires and other outdoor activities.
