Lovely area and so close to Llandegfedd lake! Horses in the field opposite which I loved!

Positiv Loved this site! Small, friendly and simple. May not be to everyone’s liking as there are no facilities other than two Porto loos but that why we liked it - not the loo’s but the simplicity 🤩. We had a lovely walk down to the reservoir.

Positiv It’s a very simple campsite as described and the pitches are clearly marked out. You choose your own pitch and if busy, you may be left on a hilly pitch but it was relatively quiet over the weekend so we were able to set up on a more flatter pitch.

Being next to a country road, it was quiet and peaceful, with very little traffic noise. There was a pub nearby playing live music on Friday night but this finished well before 10pm so we didn’t find this was much of an issue and we were tempted to find out where it was to go there and enjoy the following night (the music only played on Friday night).

The reservoir trail is close by and we were going to go paddle boarding if the weather was better. In order to get out on the water, there is a fee. £6 for half a day, or £10 for a whole day.

As described on the site, there is no showers and only portaloos on the campsite, but it was nice to go back to basics. The toilets were smelly but kept clean and stocked with toilet roll and hand sanitiser.

One of the site owners, Sue, came round on Saturday evening to introduce herself and it was lovely to have a chat.

Negativ The portaloos were quite smelly but they were kept clean with toilet roll and hand sanitiser. I’m not sure anything can be done about the smell though.

Being in a more remote location, signal is hit and miss. There was no O2 reception and very little EE reception, only enough to receive and send plain text messages or call.

Positiv Lovely location, quiet and pretty field. Drinking water was handy too! Owner seemed lovely when she came over to say hello after we’d set up. We happened to be the only ones there until our last night which was a lovely bonus! Portaloos were cleaned daily

Negativ I do however think it’s overpriced for what it is. I normally find sites without showers are normally about half the price but the main thing for me was that there’s no bins to leave rubbish. I think for the price paid to then not even be able to leave rubbish is a bit of a pain. Portaloos we’re very clean however right on top of each other which became a bit uncomfortable when the site got busier on our last night.

Positiv It was quiet and peaceful. We had the campsite to ourselves for two out of the three nights, pitches were a decent size and the portaloos were cleaned regularly. The owners came over and introduced themselves and seemed very nice.

Negativ Only two portaloos available and are right next to each other which wasn’t so nice when the campsite got busier on the third night. Seemed over price for such basic facilities and never been to a campsite that doesn’t provide bins and you are expected to take your rubbish home.

Positiv The peace and Tranquility. The pitches are really big and so much room. I met the owner and he was so helpful. I am definitely going to stay at this campsite again.
