Positiv Good hard standing, with astro turf. Water and electric in easy reach. Kids enjoyed seeing the horses and ponies which come over to the fence next to the pitch.

Positiv It was a nice camp site the people were very helpful . it was nice pitching on fake grass so no mud or grass in the van to clear up . very quiet even though it was near the motor way loved seeing the horses and chickens
We would definitely go there again

Negativ Skrubby area around, very noisy because of the M 4 motorway in front, only one toilet (unisex) an the place without light inside and no brush. Pitch is no pitch because there are no place for grey water or chemical toilet or dishes washing.
Aside from that the Pitch was uneven and in the middle of a horsefarm.
No wifi
No Recycling station

Positiv Very friendly site owner/staff and we lucked out when it was quiet, they put us on a single motorhome pitch which was lovely - right next to a fire pit set up and the stables. Having the horses, chickens and pigeons right next door might not appeal to all but it was perfect for us as - although we did come away a little concerned about some dogs kept on site (it may be a mixed bag if you are an animal lover).

It's obvious that the site owners are industrious, preferring to build their own facilities / animal housing but some may find it a bit ramshackle. Generally I would say the site has a bit of a homemade sensibility about it, which I find quite charming.

Showers were clean and had good pressure, as well as being cheap.

Local walks are interesting, Newport isn't as immaculate as other parts of wales we visited but there is a nearby river and some old industrial canals which I found very interesting to visit and explore.

Negativ Other than some personal concerns about animal welfare (which may or may not be valid, we were only there one night and weren't worried enough to raise it) there's very little to complain about

Positiv Really friendly welcome. Very relaxed site. Plenty of room. We stayed in the stables part. Gorgeous horses that were well cared for. There was a lovely seating area with a fire pit and chiminea. We booked for 2 nights but only needed one after all. The lady on the main site was very helpful with places to walk to.

Negativ The only tiny downside is there is only one unisex toilet on the stable part with no light that we could see at night time ....... also bring your own loo roll just in case lol the showers are only in the main site but reading other reviews I think there may be plans for showers, etc at the stables

Positiv What a brilliant find. This little site was perfect for our visit to family in the area. The owners couldn't do enough for us, very welcoming and friendly and concerned that we had everything we needed and were happy with our pitch. Large level hardstanding pitches.Water and electricity provided, together with the key to toilet door number 6, (which locked the door from the inside when in use) and a separate shower room. Facilities were very clean. We didn't have chance to check it out this time, but there are walks to a nature reserve and countryside from the site. Location is ideal to break a journey, being 5 minutes from the M4, or for touring the Newport area.

Negativ Nothing to dislike.
It was a little confusing to find, down a very narrow lane, a sign by Crystal stables would be helpful, although Google did know that it was further down the lane.
Didn't bother us, but as other people have mentioned, it is immediately below the M4 motorway, so some road noise.
