Whether you’re after waterfront strolls or challenging hikes (for you and your canine companion) along forested mountain trails, a holiday in the Trossachs ought to deliver aplenty. A top place to stay to make the most of all the area has to offer is Loch Katrine Eco Lodges, a family-friendly site on the easternmost shore of Loch Katrine, overlooked by Ben A’an mountain. The cosy ecolodges come with real beds, a toilet and sink (a shower block is nearby) and a kitchenette with microwave, fridge, toaster and, of course, a kettle for a nice morning (or afternoon) brew. Other comforts include a TV, but why would you be watching telly when you can sit on your private decked area – maybe with a light lunch on the picnic table – taking in unforgettable views of the lake? When you want to progress from watching the lake to sailing on it, it’s good to know that staying here entitles you to a 10% discount on scheduled cruises, so book yourself on the Steamship Sir Walter Scott (which has been plying these waters since 1900) or one of the other boats. Cruises run daily and throughout the year, and it’s less than a five-minute walk to the departure point (Trossachs Pier). If you want to stay on dry land and explore the surrounding woodland on two wheels, a 10% off cycle hire ensures that you don’t feel left out of the money-off offers. For shops, restaurants and bars, Aberfoyle is a 15-minute drive from the site, or you can head to Callander (20 minutes).

Surroundings were amazing
So much to do and so little time which means I have to come back.
Lodges were great too. No noise from any other lodge even during the evening.

Positiv Amazing location. Lodge was small but had everything we needed.

Negativ Misleading info when booking. Site says there are 2 rooms in the lodge, when in fact the toilet/shower was in a different building a short walk away and there was only 1 room. Also check in info was inconsistent, one email said 3pm another 4pm. Only 1 plug in heater, might be cold in winter. Cutlery was dirty from previous guests. Outside seating was uncomfortable, other lodges had much nicer seating. Nothing major and didn't spoil weekend but for the money expected a bit more.

Positiv Gorgeous location and everything you need for a weekend stay. Lodge was warm and cosy with all the basics needed.
Stunning views over Loch Katrine to see The Sir Walter Scott steamship fresh out of dry dock and waiting to begin it's summer tours.
Staff were very pleasant and friendly.
Easy parking near the lodge for us less mobile visitors.
Lovely lovely lovely!

Negativ The mattress was not to my personal taste but was comfortable!

Bring own pillow covers and duvet covers.

Positiv Swings were great for my 6 year old. Toilets and showers very clean. Amazing views of the Loch from the pods. Heating was great and kept the pod warm. Great BBQ for £10 hire. Boat trip was great. Staff members were very helpful and friendly.

Staff friendly

Negativ The comfort in the cabin was dreadful, the bed panels kept moving no support for me or my wife, the television came on when it wanted to, the WiFi was non existent we booked for a long weekend after a stressful year and it made things worse we spent one night and booked out. Ben Lomond
